For Brian “tsarrast” Rast things looked really good for a few moments and then came to a screeching halt. Rast doubled through Harder to get off the short stack and then had Justin Young (left) all in with pocket queens against Young’s pocket nines. A nine hit the flop to give Young a set but a queen on the river made a bigger set for Rast and in short order he went from having just 1 million chips to a healthy stack of over 5 million. Young was eliminated in 8th place for $163,420 after being the chip leader for much of the later stages of the tournament.
For Rast things the good times didn’t last for long. He was soon all in for his 5.7 million chip stack against Yevgeniy “Atimos” Timoshenko. Timoshenko had started the action with a 300k bet (blinds 60k / 120k with a 15k ante) and Harder raised to 850k. Rast then moved all in for his 5.72 million chip stack and after getting the exact count Timoshenko called, having Rast barely covered with his 5.75 million chip stack. Harder then got out of the way and when the cards were turned up Rast had the A

and was in bad shape against the K

of Timoshenko. The board came 9

and with that Timoshenko won a 13.3 million chip pot and assumed the chip lead going into the final table.
For Rast (right) the 7th place finish brought a payday of $204,275 but left him short of the ever elusive appearance on a televised table.
Here are how the final 6 stack up going into final table play:
Yevgeniy “Atimos” Timoshenko - 13,300,000

Scotty Nguyen - 3,275,000
