Wexler Eliminated by Rich on 07.03.09, 12:50 am

Jonas “plummer92″ Wexler (pictured left) and Sean Keeton battled in the blinds during the previous level. Keeton raised to 150K from the small blind and Wexler re-raised to 375K. Keeton instantly moved all in, and after pausing for thought Wexler made the call. The hands were tabled:

Wexler: AT
Keeton: AK

The 773 flop opened some doors for Wexler. The rail starting yelling cards when finally the dealer wrapped the table and delivered the 8 on the turn. The crowd grew louder as the river card neared. There was moment of silence when the K hit the felt, followed by an explosion of noise. Keeton doubled to 3.6 million and Wexler slipped below 700K.

The very next hand Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka opened to 150K and Wexler shoved all in from the small blind. Josh “brikdog24″ Brikis re-shoved from the big blind and Jaka folded. Wexler was dominated holding KQ against Birkis’ AQ. The board ran 854Q7 and Jonas was eliminated.

The entire table stood to congratulate him. Josh gripped him up and gave him a hug before Wexler left to collect his money. A whopping $189,555 is sitting at the cage awaiting Jonas, who is our 5th place finisher.

A few hands later Jaka lost a big pot to Birkis. Matt Hawrilenko opened to 150K and both Jaka and Keeton called. Brikis acted as the black sheep in the family and raised to 410K from the big blind. Only Faraz called and the two took a flop of 873. Josh led out for 550K and Jaka called. The turn was the 2. “All in,” Brikis said quickly. Jaka flicked his cards in the muck and dropped to 1.8 million. With that hand Brikis increased his chip lead to 5.2 million.

The players are on the tail end of a 20 minute break and when they return the blinds will raise to 40K/80K/10K.
