With 34 players left there will be 7 of those going home tonight with a sick feeling in their stomachs. Only the top 27 make the money, leaving 7 of those left destined to fall on the wrong side of the money bubble. Thuy “ShesNoGood” Doan (right) was one of the eliminations just before the end of the third level of play for the day. She picked the wrong time to get it in with two over cards to the ten high board, running into Toto Leonidas with top set.
After blinding down to just a little over 10k and then doubling up through James “mig.com” Mackey the squeaky tight Allen Kessler was eliminated from the tournament in 36th place.
Chip leader Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire was able to contribute to getting the field down to only 4 tables when he eliminated Kenny Nguyen. Devo had opened to 6,500 and Mike Kamran called. Nguyen then announced he was all in for a total of 76,300 and Devonshire said he was all in as well. Kamran folded and Nguyen showed his pocket fives only to hear Kamran say he folded the same hand and Bryan roll over pocket aces. No flush or straight came for Nguyen and after picking up the pot Devo was closing in on the 800k mark with a castle of chips with stacks upon stacks getting up over 100 chips high.
His tower came down a little bit at the end of the level for two reasons. First, he lost a race with his AQ against another players pocket eights that dropped him back to just around 700k and he had to color up all his black 100 denomination chips that made up the base levels of his tower.
Carter “ckingusc” King made trip jacks but ran into a straight and has dropped to only 68k as the money bubble nears. Adam “Roothlus” Levy continues to hand around 100k chips, where he has been for most of the day give or take a few chips. Josh “Sdouble” Schlein had a rough level and finds himself getting down into the low 100k’s in the chip counts as well.
Tony “DrunkPPlaya” Gargano was recently moved to Devonshire’s table and along with Steven Begleiter he has one of the larger stacks, not counting Devo of course. Gargano goes into the 4th level of play for the day with around 400k. Doubling Kessler was the tiniest of dings to Mackey’s stack who still has right around 500k.
