“I Tricked Ya” by Rich on 06.16.09, 7:00 pm

Garrett “Gbecks” Beckman (pictured right) is rarely outspoken at the poker table. Many see Beckman with his hood up, carefully studying the game and the players around him. Garrett opened up a bit in a hand against a very outspoken player, Mark Seif. Seif limped from early position and action folded to the small blind who completed. Beckman checked his big blind and the flop fell A82. Both blinds checked to Seif, who bet 300. The small blind mucked and Beckman called. Both players checked the A on the turn and the dealer dropped the J on the river. Beckman stacked some 100 and 500 chips, and flipped 1400 into the middle. Confused, Seif tossed two 500 chips into the middle. “It’s 1400,” Beckman told him. “I tricked ya.” Seif didn’t say a word, he just added the extra 400. Garrett tabled AJ for aces full of jacks, and Mark mucked the losing hand. Beckman scooped the pot and is nearing 10K.

David “The Maven” Chicotsky is playing some tricks of his own. He raised to 400 from the cutoff with the blinds at 50/100 and the button called. Both blinds folded and the flop was Q64. Chicotsky opted to check call his opponent’s 600 chip bet. The turn was the T, and David check called a 1100 bet. The river brought the 2, and Chicotsky checked a third time. His opponent gave up, checking behind, and The Maven tabled QJ for top pair. The player on the button mucked and Chicotsky scooped the pot. “I wish you fired that third bullet,” David told his opponent.

Jason “JAKoon1985″ Koon flagged us down to tell us about a hand he played against Ari “Bodog Ari” Engel. During the 50/100 level, Ari raised to 250 from the hi-jack position and was called by a player on the button and Koon in the big blind. Koon held KQ and flopped top two pair on a K-Q-8 flop. All three players checked and the turn was the J. Koon bet 525 and both players called. The river was a harmless 4, and again Koon led out. Jason bet 1525, and Ari shoved overtop of him. The button folded and although he was getting a great price, Koon folded and is now nursing a short stack. Jason was very pleased with his fold, Ari flashed A-T for broadway.

There have been a few eliminations as of late.Josh “Crippled-Action” Cranfill (pictured left) unfortunately busted when he ran into quad fours, and Scott “gunning4you” Seiver is out and now railing Leo “SuperfluousMan” Wolpert.
