No we are not quoting a Daft Punk song nor are we promoting an overused poker euphemism.

Today is the last final table of the 2009 WSOP until the Main Event final table reconvenes on November 7th. Sixteen of the original 928 runners remain in Event #56 and they are all competing for $1 million and a WSOP gold bracelet. Shaun Deeb, John “apestyles” Van Fleet and Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle were unable to extend their lives to Day 3, but some P5ers still remain.

Peter “Nordberg” Feldman (pictured left) leads all P5ers with 1.33 million in chips. Feldman won WSOP circuit events in both 2005 and 2006, but he has yet to win a gold bracelet. His deepest finish in this year’s series was a ninth place finish in Event #41.

The other chip counts look like this:

Jonas “plummer92″ Wexler - 848K
Faraz “The-Toilet0” Jaka - 778K
Alex “EC10″ Venovski - 684K
Frank “Frank1The1Tank” Calo - 569K
Josh “brikdog24″ Brikis - 294K

The cards will be in the air at approximately 1 p.m. and we wish all of the remaining players the best of luck!

WSOP 2009 Ante Up for Africa

P5er Annie Duke and actor Don Cheadle launched Ante Up for Africa at the 2007 World Series of Poker. In the past two years the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for relief efforts in Darfur.

Today marks the third anniversary of the tournament and the field is start studded. Among celebrities are Matt Damon, Montel Williams, Jason Alexander, Sarah Silverman and Charles Barkley.

Some of the confirmed poker players include Howard Lederer, Andy Bloch, Erik Seidel and Phill Hellmuth.

Don Cheadle speculated that Mike Tyson may be in attendance. Hopefully he will bring his tiger. The tournament begins at 2:00pm PT. Red carpet precedes the festivities at 1:00pm.
