‘TheWacoKidd’ Will Have To Wait ‘Til Next Year by Rachel on 07.06.09, 10:51 pm

We caught three bustouts over in the Brasilia and Miranda Rooms just before the players left for their 90-minute dinner break.

Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby was facing a raise of 1,025 on the button from the player in the cutoff. Hamby re-raised to 3.5K and after a short time the cutoff made it 9.5K. Hamby moved in for a little more and the cutoff called with his 99. Hamby showed AQ. The board ran out K{737T. Hamby slammed his hand down onto the table in disappointed and made a quick exit from the Miranda Room.

Just a few tables away David “Raptor517″ Benefield bet 5K, or a little short of half his stack, on a flop of AAT. The player in seat four put in enough orange chips to put Benefield all in and Benefield snap-called with his AK. The other player turned over A2. Benefield was in terrific shape to double up but the 2 fell on the river, giving his opponent a full house. There was no king for Benefield on the river and his was eliminated.

Justin “fluffdog” Filtz was facing a decision for all his chips when we walked up to his table. Another player told us that Filtz four-bet before the other player moved all in with Filtz covered. The dealer at the table later told us that Filtz thought about the decision for about ten minutes before his opponent finally called the clock on him.

The floor came over and began her one-minute countdown and Filtz twice asked how much time he had left before saying “I call” with about 15 seconds remaining.

He turned over JJ, but his opponent showed AA. The board of 75286 didn’t bring Filtz any help and he hit the rail.

As the third level was winding down Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire and Eric “E Fro” Froehlich tangled in a substantial pot.  We missed the preflop and flop action, but caught up with the two on the turn.  The board read 8727 and Bryan bet out 2.45K into what looked to be a 4K pot.  Eric thought for a minute before raising to 6.5K total and Bryan thought even longer before calling.  The river was the A and Devonshire quickly checked and Froehlich checked behind, which saved him some chips as Devonshire tabled {as]A for aces full of sevens.  Froehlich mucked while Devonshire picked up the pot and built his chip stack up to 40K.  Meanwhile, Froehlich dropped to just over 50K.

Noah “fouruhaters” Schwartz dodged eliminated a few hands before the dinner break. Schwartz was sitting with less than 10K when he opened to 850 with the blinds at 150/300. A man seated to his direct left three-bet to 2.5K and action folded back to Noah who called. The flop fell A76 and Schwartz checked. His opponent bet 4.1K which was more than half of Noah’s stack. Scwhartz begrudgingly moved his short stack all in and his opponent snap-called.

“Ace-king right?” Noah asked.

His opponent nodded tabling AK and Schwartz found himself way behind with AQ. There was a stir at the table when the 8 turned and after the 2 spiked on the river the table erupted in disbelief. That lucky double up has Noah at 20K at the dinner break.
