It had been a grueling first three levels for Jamie “TheNew” Robbins. And on the last hand before dinner, things got even worse.
After losing a number of small pots today and watching his starting stack divide in half, Robbins finally got his money in great with a chance to eliminate a player and chip back up to around 8 million. The deck would have a different say in the matter.
With the blinds at 100K/200K ante 30K Robbins raised to 530K and James Akenhead re-raised all in for just under 2.4 million. Robbins snap-called and tabled pocket aces, while Akenhead flipped up his K

. Then, the featured table erupted as the K

flop gave Akenhead the lead. The 7
turn left Robbins needing any ace, jack, ten, or seven to win the pot, but it wasn’t meant to be as the 5
landed on the river, putting a huge dent in Robbins’s stack. He’ll return from the break with 1.3 million.
Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith continued to amass chips during the lat level before the dinner break. He picked up a nice pot when it folded around to Kevin Schaffel in the small blind who raised to 600K with the blinds at 100K/200K ante 30K. Smith called from teh big blind and the two players saw a flop of K

. Schaffel bet out 850K and Jordan called. The turn was the 3
and Schaffel fired 1.5 million, which Smith also called. The river brought a fourth diamond, the 5
and Schaffel checked to Smith who bet out 2 million chips. That was enough to get Kevin to fold and Jordan took down the pot and chipped up to 16.5 million chips.
After moving all-in before the flop several times Ben “benba” Lamb finally found a player willing to try and knock him out in the form of Jeff Shulman. Shulman opened for a raise to 600K in early position and it folded around to Lamb in the small blind, who moved all-in for an additional 1.7 million chips. Shulman deliberated for a minute before calling with K

, which was racing with Lamb’s T

to double Lamb up to around 5 million chips while Shulman was left with close to 11 million.
We’re going to keep a running total of Joe “jcada99″ Cada 3-bets that have gone uncontested at today’s ESPN featured table. The current number is seven since the final two tables were formed. Most of them came while he was in late position and two were against early position raises from Phil Ivey. Cada is currently hovering just above the 19 million mark, which places him fourth going into the dinner break.
The remaining fourteen players will resume play at 8:42 p.m. local time and play until we have our November Nine. Here are the current chip counts of the five P5ers still alive:
