Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin last night became the eighth P5er to win a bracelet (nine overall) at this year’s WSOP and three more have a shot at winning the tenth today. Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi, Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy and Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron (pictured right) will return for Day 3 of the $5K Pot Limit Omaha Event (#35) at 1:00 p.m. Vegas time. Eleven players will play down to one winner later this evening.
Mizzi (969K chips) is the leader going into the final day while Rifat Palevic (949K) is close on his heels. Josephy (805K) is third while Baron (170K) is on the short stack. The winner will receive $409,484.
A couple tournaments will attempt to play down to a final table this evening. The $2K NLHE Event (#36) is crowded with online stars as 213 of the original 1,695 survived Day 1. Friends Jordan “Octavian_C” Rich (128.9K) and Jason Gray (122.7K) are among this chip leaders as are Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens (123.8) and Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith (110.1K). We’ll have a full list of all of the P5ers still in the field before play resumes at 2:00 p.m.
The $10K Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo World Championship lost less than 1/3 of its field yesterday and 110 players will take their seats at 2:00 p.m. today. Among those remaining include Annie Duke, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, Scott “BigRiskky” Clements and Zac “Zacpacker” Fellows.
The lone event getting underway today is the $2K Limit Hold ‘em event. Play got started at Noon and so far 350 players are registered. Matt “mattster24″ Sterling, David “Doc_Sands” Sands and Mike “SirWatts” Watson are some of those we’ve seen so far.
