WSOP 2008
Having position on John Phan is a big advantage to Zachary “CrazyZachary” Clark at this final table. Sometimes, using your position on an aggressive player can put you in a tough spot when a player behind you wakes up with a hand. John Phan opened for 160k from the button and Zach raised to 560k. Kyle Wilson then moved in from the big blind for 995k total, pricing Zach into the call after Phan folded his hand.
Clark’s A-J was up against the pocket kings of Wilson. In the first 18 hands of play there were no flops seen. The first flop of the final table came in an all in situation, and an ace on the flop left Wilson drawing thin. There was no help on the turn or the river and Kyle Wilson went from being a favorite to double to over 2 million chips to being the 6th place finisher for $176,035.
The good fortune for Clark gives him extra ammunition to continue in his battle for the title with big stacks Amit “Amak316″Makhija and John Phan.

Tomorrow at 4pm the final 6 will be back to play down to a title. For now though, everyone is celebrating just making the TV table. Thoughts of what comes next will be saved for at least an hour or so down the road. Matt Keikoan was the unfortunate seventh place finisher.
Amit “Amak316″ Makhija (left) stayed steady at just over 3 million chips for the last few levels of play and he will carry his chip lead into final table play. John Phan will be at his second WPT final table in 2 months, coming off a 5th place finish in the Bellagio Cup WPT event in July. After busting Lane Flack he has just under 3 million in chips and trails only Makhija.
Kyle Wilson and Zachary “CrazyZachary” Clark also made their way into the final 6 and along with Paul Smith and Trong Nguyen will be taking their best shot at the chip leaders.
Full end of day chip counts will be available shortly.

A World Poker Tour televised final table is getting so close the remaining players can almost taste it. Amit “Amak316″ Makhija continues to grow his chip lead as the night wears on. The other players are punting chips back and forth, with everyone moving between 1 and 2 million chips.
Zachary “CrazyZachary” Clark (right) has maintained just under 2 million chips for much of the last level. He finds himself second in chips as the blinds go up to 20k / 40k but the field is not far behind him. Matt Keikoan, Kyle Wilson and Trong Nguyen are hanging in around the 1.5 million range while John Phan, Layne Flack, and Paul Smith are fighting to stay alive near the bottom.
Zach and Amit have some supporters hanging around. Vivek “psyduck” Rajkumar and Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson are both keeping a close eye on their buddies as they close in on the final 6.
