Plens Recovers and Joins Klodnicki by AdamJ on 07.13.08, 6:34 pm

Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens picked up a big hand right after taking a hit to his stack that brought him down to one million. Plens (pictured at right) made it 100K preflop and his opponent with about 700K called in position. Plens bet 140K into the 300K pot on a J47 flop; his opponent moved all-in and Plens called, revealing the AA which was way ahead of his opponent’s KT. When the board didn’t bring another club, Plens sent his opponent to the rail in 56th place.

Plens later moved to Chris “SLOPPYKLOD” Klodnicki’s table. Klodnicki’s stack has built from the onset and currently is at 5.6 million. He won a big hand earlier in the day when he flat-called a 5X raise with A-K and flopped a pair on a K-10-4 board. His opponent made an aggressive play at him and bloated the pot with A-J. Klodnicki’s top pair held and his chipstack grew.

Peter “number1pen” Neff took a hit earlier right before the last 20-minute break when he re-raised a 90K opening bet to 258K. An opponent behind Neff went all-in with a meager 350K stack; Neff called with pocket queens but was behind his opponent’s aces, dropping Neff’s stack down a bit. Neff’s stack is currently at 1.45 million and is sitting two seats to the right of Owen “ocrowe” Crowe, who has 1.3 million.

Garrett “GBecks” Beckman is sitting directly to left of Adam “Roothlus” Levy. Beckman sat to Levy’s immediate right yesterday for awhile as well. Sorry Mr. Levy.

Team Ladbrokes player Peter “Pete4002″ Eastgate was recently moved to the side featured table, across the felt from Brandon Cantu. Sitting next to the dealer in the nine seat, Peter guards a well-above average stack of 3.5M and was playing extremely tight when we caught up to the table.

We weren’t able to catch the elimination of Jeremy “thechemist83″ Gaubert (pictured at left), but we found out shortly after that he got his final chips in with A-K against the pocket jacks of Mike Matusow and couldn’t outdraw “The Mouth.” Gaubert finished in 58th place for $115,800. Also knocked out in the past level was Rafael “rcaiaffa” Caiaffa, who took 55th place for $115,800.

Here’s a list of some of the P5ers left with 50 players remaining:

Chris “SLOPPYKLOD” Klodnicki - 5.6 million
Andrew “foucault” Brokus - 3.7 million

Benefield Busts by AdamJ on 07.13.08, 5:07 pm

Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens didn’t get off to the best start on Day 6 of the Main Event. Starting with an average stack of 1.9 million, Plens lost 500k in the first hour.

Thanks to a key hand and an aggressive play from his opponent, he got all of his starting stack back and more. With blinds at 15k-30k-4k, Plens made it 80k on the button. An opponent called out of the blind and Keith “The Camel” Hawkins moved all-in out of the big blind for 600k. Plens called and the small blind folded. Plens tabling the AK to Hawkins’ J9. The flop came KQ[4s} and 3 turn and the Q river sealed it for Plens, sending Hawkins to the rail. Plens stack boosted to 2.1 million.

David “Raptor517″ Benefield’s day wasn’t nearly as triumphant. Benefield hit the exit an hour into to play when he got mixed up in a hand with Brandon Cantu, who was the preflop raiser. Benefield got all-in on the turn with the KJ when the board read T987, ahead of Cantu’s A9. That was until Cantu clipped a 6 on the river in a pot over 4 million.
Due to the strict media constrictions thus far, we’re unable to check up on all the players in the Amazon Room that aren’t close to the rail. But we’ll continue to feed you all that we can as the day progresses.

Ladbrokes pro Peter Eastgate is over the 2.2 million average stack with 2.9 million. Here’s a list of some the P5′ers left:

Chris “SLOPPYKLOD” Klodnicki - 4.5 million
Andrew Brokos - 3.7 million
Owen “ocrowe” Crowe - 2 million
Peter “number1pen” Neff - 1.38 million
Rafael Caiaffa - 1.6 million
Garrett “GBecks” Beckman - 1.1 million
Adam “Roothlus” Levy - 855k
Jeremy “thechemist83″ Gaubert - 605k
