WSOP 2008
Midway through the championship event seems like an odd time to make a rule change, but Jack McClelland isn’t afraid to do things his way. For a few years the Bellagio has enforced a show one show all rule that has been interpreted as show one show both.
The difference being the show one show all was intended to say if you show one other player your card(s) you have to show all the other players the card. Somehow this became skewed into showing one of your cards meant you had to show both of them. Daniel Negreanu was the catalyst for finally getting this rule changed, and after taking a vote at the start of day 3, McClelland relented to the overwhelming player desire to change the rule and from here on out the Bellagio will be enforcing show one show all instead of show one show both. Players now have the option of showing one card without being forced to expose the other.
The Bellagio staff runs some of the best tournaments in the world and McClelland deserves credit for both putting together such a good team and being willing to make changes instead of stubbornly sticking to what has been the norm in the past.

Tournament director Jack McClelland has just announced there will be six more hands played for the night and then the players will bag up their chips and call it a night. Today’s players get tomorrow off while the second flight of day 1 players have their turn at the tables tomorrow.
As expected the action today was fairly slow with the deep stacks and low blinds, but there was still a good amount of action throughout the day. Once play is complete we will get you a more complete rundown of who made it through the day and with how many chips.
At last check Brandon Cantu, Darrell “Gigabet” Dicken, Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis, Dario Minieri, and Barry Greenstein were among the chip leaders as play wraps up for the day.
