Sitron Making a Run in 1.5k NL by AdamJ on 07.01.08, 9:00 pm

Scott “ssitron” Sitron (pictured left) has nearly quadrupled his stack since P5’s last caught up with him a few hours ago.

Sitron currently sits with 250k in Day 2 of the 1.5k NL WSOP Event #52, a stack way above the 82k average with 98 players left with blinds at 1.5k-3k-400.

Sitron said he has been running good and has won a trio of all-ins when he was ahead each time with Q-Q vs 5-5, J-J vs 5-5, and TT vs A-5 suited.

Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaubaugh just dipped below his 170k starting stack after he lost 20k in a pot where he re-raised an under the gun raise and got 4-bet and flatted the raise, check-folding on a T94 flop.

George “TheButler” Dietz has moved up from his 35k stack a few hours ago, currently at 70k. Dietz got a favorable seat draw with his back only a few feet from the rail where his friends Kevin “BeLOWaBOVe” Saul and Dan “Wretcy” Martin followed the action.

After starting the day with only 9k, David Daneshgar has held on to the 110k stack he accumulated in the first few hours.

Ben “bfineman” Fineman was one of the early winners of the 1.5k Limit Shootout WSOP Event #53. A handful of other P5er’s are still in the hunt as well.

Tim “TMay420″ West is 3-handed with 13k of the 29k in play and Scott “gunning4you” Seiver is heads-up with 18k. Darren “DABADESTCHIC” Nelson has mounted a big rally in heads-up play, running a 4k stack up to 12k. Brock “t_soprano” Parker is down to 3-handed play but is very short at 2k and Justin “zeejustin” Bonomo is 3-handed with 8k. Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke is 3-handed with 5.5k.

Seiver Busts Before the Bubble by Crystal on 07.01.08, 3:23 am

The bubble just burst in the $1.5k NLHE tournament and while Cody “thugmoneymakr” Slaubaugh, Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan, and Josh “pbdrunks” Van Duyn have all made the money, Scott “gunning4you” Seiver bust out just a couple spots shy of earning a payday.

When the blinds were at 500/1,000/100, Scott (pictured right) called a short stacked player’s all-in preflop with AQ. His opponent held the 66 and Scott was sitting pretty on a flop of AK8, but the 6 on the turn gave the all-in player a lock on the hand and Scott’s stack was knocked to around 15k.

With the blinds upped to 600/1,200/100 and the money bubble looming, Scott raised to 2.6k only to have another player re-raise to 6.5k. Scott then pushed all in for a little more than 20k and his opponent called. Scott showed the AK to his opponents QQ. The board ran out JT357 and Scott was sent to the rail.

The average stack is now around 30k and Van Duyn has around 9k, Ryan is sitting with about 32k and Slaubaugh has 63k.

All the remaining players are guaranteed to take home at least $2,756 but we’re sure they all have the $625,443 first place prize in their sights.

Graham Cracker Crunch by Brett on 06.26.08, 4:32 pm

Matt “mattg1983″ Graham is the early chip leader of today’s $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Six-handed event. With players still making their way into the Amazon Room, Graham (pictured right) called a raise of 175 out of the big blind with 43 and another limper called. The flop brought A-3-3 rainbow and Graham led out for 300. The limper folded and original raiser called. The 8 on the turn brought a flush draw and Graham bet 1025 and was raised to 3025. Graham called and made quads when another 3 landed on the river. He moved all in for his last 6K and his opponent called and Graham showed the nuts and pulled in a pot of 20K. We missed what the other player showed, but Graham believed it was A-K.

Cody “thugmoneymakr” Slaughbaugh didn’t have the same fortune. He got all of his chips in on a J65 board with A8 against J5 and was unable to make his flush. He, along with Jordan Morgan, Scott “gunning4you” Seiver and Gary “GB2005″ Bogdanski were all eliminated in the first two levels. Bogdanski ran a set into a higher set after all the chips went in on the flop.

Eric “Rizen” Lynch is up to 15K after he knocked a player out of the tournament with KK against QQ. All of the chips went in preflop and the board revealed A5327. Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan has also chipped up to 19K after making a king-high flush against a queen-high flush and getting it all in on the turn.

Beckman Elimates Levy by AdamJ on 06.22.08, 10:08 pm

Adam “Roothlus” Levy (pictured right) couldn’t fade the cards all day and was eliminated right before the dinner break of the 1.5k NL WSOP Event #39.

Levy had been all-in around 20 times according to his table, most of which didn’t get any callers. Once Levy would double up and appear to get near the chip average he’d loose a key hand and get down again well below the average. Levy was never able to string together the successive double ups necessary to be a factor and eventually fell victim to the chip magnet that has been Garrett “GBecks” Beckman.

Beckman raised from middle position to 11k and Levy went all-in for another 42k more out of the blind. Beckman called with AJ and ran down Levy’s pocket fives when the board ran out 8-9-9-9-J. Beckman is the current chip leader with 390k.

Former chip leader David “ComptonMasta” Barter missed out on an opportunity to have a ridiculous chip stack over 500k when his pocket jacks lost a 260k pot on a ten high flop when his opponent was all-in and clipped a flush with his gut-shot straight and flush draw. Barter is still second in chips with 290k.

Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach was eliminated when his late position all-in steal attempt with 92 was called by KQ in the big blind and his opponent flopped a queen that held.

Here’s a list of notable stacks left.

David “DavidP18″ Peters - 95k

Luke “JohnnyCashOut” Priour - 55k

The 1.5k Mixed Hold-em WSOP Event #41 is underway and a slew of online players were spotted playing in it throughout the Amazon Room, although many showed up after the 5pm start.

Glen “choron” Chorny (pictured right) has made an early exit from the mixed event.  After doubling up an opponent who flopped 2 pair with A-6 against Chorny’s A-Q, Chorny was short stacked going into the limit section of Level 2 with around 600.  With the blinds at 50/100 a player in middle position raised and Chorny 3-bet behind him.  It folded back around to the intial raiser who made the call.  The flop came AT8 and the initial raiser checked-called Chorny’s bet.  When the 5 came on the turn the first player checked again and Chorny bet 200, leaving only 75 behind.  The other player then raised to put Chorny all-in and Glen made the call with AQ.  The other player turned over K-J and a Q hit on the river, giving the player Broadway and sending Glen home for the night.

Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein quickly entered in the Mixed Hold Em event after busting out of Day 2 of the $1.5K No Limit Hold Em Event, but he has already been sent packing.  Other early departures include Scott “gunning4you” Seiver, Justin Bonomo, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby, and Eric “Rizen” Lynch

Let’s hope that Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach, who immediately registered for Event #41 upon his elimination in the $1.5K NLHE event, doesn’t have a similar fate to Greenstein.

Seiver Trying to Go Busto by AdamJ on 06.22.08, 4:13 am

Nursing a short stack after the money bubble burst in the 1.5k NL WSOP Event #39, Scott “gunning4you” Seiver (pictured right) adopted a strategy to either build up his 7k stack or go home with less than 40 minutes left in the day.

After a few double ups, once making a straight when he went all-in preflop with 5 high, Seiver now has a puncher’s chance with 21k with the average stack at 38k.

He was admittedly hoping to bust when he was really short so he could play the 2-7 triple draw tournament that starts in eleven hours.

Once Seiver built his stack up he said that he wasn’t throwing in the towel anymore as he started the 5k NL tournament on day 2 with a below average stack of 22k and went on to win the bracelet and 755k a few weeks back.

Wayne “Imustcall” Leonard won a nice pot off of Amit “amak316″ Makhija when he won an all-in confrontation with QQ against Makhija’s AK minutes after the money bubble bursted, increasing Leonard’s stack to 40k and dropping Makhija’s down to 14k.

Theo Tran continued to add to his tally of cashes, making the money for the fifth time this WSOP. Tran won’t be able to make his third final table this series however, busting with two minutes left on a 4.5k stack.

Tran’s chances of making another deep run was thwarted when he lost a 40k pot before the money bubble when his AK lost to AQ in a hand that was all-in preflop.

Here’s a list of other notable players left.

Barry Greenstein - 84k

Garrett “GBecks” Beckman - 68k

Luke “JohnnyCashOut2″ Priour - 46k

Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach - 45k

Adam “Roothlus” Levy -  44k

Kenna James - 40k

Jason “JCarver” Somerville - 27k

Hasan Habib - 26k

Tony “Bond18″ Dunst - 18k

Joshua “pbdrunks” VanDuyn - 17k
