Sitron Sitting Pretty by Crystal on 07.02.08, 12:14 am

In the $1.5k NLHE event #52, Scott “ssitron” Sitron is currently one of the chip leaders with nearly 600k in chips. In a recent hand, Scott (pictured left) was in the big blind and when the player on the button pushed all in for 22k. Already having 8k in the pot he wanted to call but his T3 wasn’t the best hand. He did eventually make the call only to find that he was way ahead of the button’s 53. The flop came with a ten and Scott knocked the other player out.

Alvin “alsmooth” Zeidenfeld was knocked out in 38th place when he open shoved 71.5K from the button at 4K/8K blinds and was called by the big blind with A8. Ziedenfeld’s QJ needed to improve, but the K7793 board didn’t help and he earned $10,660 for his deep finish.

Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaughbaugh has been building his stack up over the last couple of hours and now sits with 340k while David Daneshgar currently has around 190k.

In the $1.5k LHE Shootout, Matt “mattg1983″ Graham, Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke, Sasha “bikocruz” Rosewood and Blair Rodman are headed to round two while Justin “zeejustin” Bonomo was eliminated when he ran his J4 into his opponents J7 on a board of J932T. Round 1 is still in progress with two heads-up matches in play. Once Round 2 begins, play will go on until a winner at each table is decided or until 2:00 a.m. PT — whichever comes first.

Sitron Making a Run in 1.5k NL by AdamJ on 07.01.08, 9:00 pm

Scott “ssitron” Sitron (pictured left) has nearly quadrupled his stack since P5’s last caught up with him a few hours ago.

Sitron currently sits with 250k in Day 2 of the 1.5k NL WSOP Event #52, a stack way above the 82k average with 98 players left with blinds at 1.5k-3k-400.

Sitron said he has been running good and has won a trio of all-ins when he was ahead each time with Q-Q vs 5-5, J-J vs 5-5, and TT vs A-5 suited.

Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaubaugh just dipped below his 170k starting stack after he lost 20k in a pot where he re-raised an under the gun raise and got 4-bet and flatted the raise, check-folding on a T94 flop.

George “TheButler” Dietz has moved up from his 35k stack a few hours ago, currently at 70k. Dietz got a favorable seat draw with his back only a few feet from the rail where his friends Kevin “BeLOWaBOVe” Saul and Dan “Wretcy” Martin followed the action.

After starting the day with only 9k, David Daneshgar has held on to the 110k stack he accumulated in the first few hours.

Ben “bfineman” Fineman was one of the early winners of the 1.5k Limit Shootout WSOP Event #53. A handful of other P5er’s are still in the hunt as well.

Tim “TMay420″ West is 3-handed with 13k of the 29k in play and Scott “gunning4you” Seiver is heads-up with 18k. Darren “DABADESTCHIC” Nelson has mounted a big rally in heads-up play, running a 4k stack up to 12k. Brock “t_soprano” Parker is down to 3-handed play but is very short at 2k and Justin “zeejustin” Bonomo is 3-handed with 8k. Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke is 3-handed with 5.5k.

Treacherous Tables in Rebuy by AdamJ on 06.26.08, 1:16 am

Many online players seemed a bit disgusted with their tables after players returned from an hour and a half dinner break in the 1k rebuy WSOP Event #44.

Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach lamented having to play at his table, playing with Jason “JCarver” Somerville and Jeff “yellowsub” Williams to his left.

Somerville was hating life even more as he said Williams, who was sitting two players his left, was “abusing” him. The two had a playful deamenor with each other as they made cracks on each other as P5’s was watching the action.

Somerville even tried to bribe P5’s to write something bad about Williams, even offering up a green 25 chip as compensation. P5’s scoffed at the offer, electing to wait for higher compensation!

Fohrenbach’s frustration didn’t get much sympathy from Adam “Roothlus” Levy, who walked over and talked about his table which included Shaun Deeb (21k), Theo Tran (75k), Scott “BigRiskky” Clements (45k), and Jordan “Octavian_C” Rich (13k).

This table was one of the more social tables, talking about many random poker stories capped off by who has broken more laptops.

After much discussion, Deeb mentioned that nobody has broken more than Chad “lilholdem954″ Batista, who has a tally Deeb confidently described as “double digits” piled up in his garage.

Joshua “pbdrunks” VanDuyn (pictured left) was battling a short stack of 10k at one of the more interesting tables left, playing alongside Mark Seif (98k), Minh “The Master” Nguyen, David Daneshgar (9k), and Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant (25k).

Although VanDuyn’s situation seemed dire with about a third of the 30k average stack, it was much worse until he tripled up his 3k stack off of Vinsant when his kings held up against Vinsant’s AJ. Perhaps VanDuyn will need to borrow another colorful hat like the pink one he borrowed from JJ Lieu earlier in the day to improve his fortune.

Here’s a list of notable chip stacks during the 400-800-100 level with 198 of 879 left.

Jason Mercier - 73k

Eric “E-fro” Froehlich - 64k

Darrell “Gigabet” Dicken - 49k

Ben “bfineman” Fineman - 30k

Brett “bhanks11″ Hanks - 26k

Craig “MrCasino” Gray - 21k

Stu “TheDonator” Paterson - 20k

Adam “akat11″ Katz - 20k

Matt “All in At 420 Stout” - 18k

Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman - 9k

Yeh and Singer chip leaders in 1.5k PLHE by AdamJ on 06.03.08, 4:31 am

A collective sigh let out in the amazon room as hand for hand ended after ten minutes of anxiousness among the 72 remaining players left in the 1.5k PLHE who secured a WSOP cash, good for $2,725 after the 73rd player was elimated.

After the cash bubble bursted, play resumed for another 20 minutes before the day ended.

Among players who chipped up as played closed was David Singer, who went from 80k to 124k in the final 30 minutes and trailed only Philip Yeh’s 143k stack of the 63 players left.

Scott “gunning4you” Seiver is among the top stacks with 95k. Seiver, also known as “mastrblastr” on Full Tilt, is a well-known nosebleed cash game player, specializing in $25-50 and $50-100 heads-up NL.

P5er Leo “Superfluous Man” Wolpert advanced to Day 2 with 12k.

Other pro’s remaining are David Daneshgar, David Levi and Eugene Todd (pictured at right).
