The ten remaining players in Event #15 $5K NLHE have all been moved to one table. And, after filling out their bio sheets, the cards were in the air once again. When one more player is eliminated, it will be an official final table. The final nine will then bag their chips and move to the feature table for a live online broadcast.
David “raptor517″ Benefield (pictured right) was eliminated shortly after our last post, shoving all-in with AJ into the AQ of David Inselberg. Benefield flopped a jack on a J-T-X board, but Inselberg hit broadway when a king turned. David finished 14th, and pockets $35,341.
Play has tightened up significantly on the final table bubble. With the blinds at 10K/20K/3K, there have been few, if any, showdowns.
Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers picked up a big pot pre flop. David Pham opened from middle position to 56K, and was called by a player on the button. Sowers three-bet to 185K, and Pham tanked for a good two minutes. David finally mucked his cards, and the button followed suit. Sowers continues to chip up, and is pushing a million in chips.
Three other P5ers remain, including:
Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron — 1.5 million
Danny “dannyills” Illingworth — 1.1 million
Billy “Patrolman35″ Kopp — 900K
WSOP 2009 Event #18 10K Limit Omaha 8
Event #18 restarted this afternoon in the Orange Section of the Amazon Room. There are a few P5ers scattered around the room, including Barry Greenstein. The Bear, pictured left, just took a hit though, when he was quartered on an 8

board holding A-7-K-J. His opponent also held A-7, but it was the A

to take three quarters of a pot worth over 10K. Barry is down to the starting stack of 30K.
Eric “jakz101″ Crain just eliminated a player with quad aces on a nearby table. There was no qualifying low, and Crain scooped the pot. He now sits with over 40K.
Scott “bigriskky” Clements, Justin “BoostedJ” Smith, Annie Duke and Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire are alive as well.
WSOP 2009 Event #17: $1K Ladies’ Event
The bubble just burst in the $1K Ladies’ event, but it sure took a while to get there. After a lengthy hand for hand period, we finally lost a player to put those remaining in the field in the money. Before the bubble burst, we had the amusing experience of watching with Maria “Maridu” Mayrinckas the following hand transpired: With the blinds at 500/1,000 ante 100 it folded to the player in the small blind who put in a raise to 3.5K. The player in the big blind, who had 6K (six big blinds), lifted her pocket nines up high enough for us to see them as she painfully mulled over her decision before eventually folding.
“Oh my God,” Maria exclaimed after the cards hit the muck. She then very politely but firmly explained to the woman that she would bubble with pocket nines in that spot all day every day. We’re inclined to agree, but its not like Jess…er…I mean we are bitter or anything ; )
Here are some updated chip counts of the P5s phillies still in contention for the Ladies’ Event bracelet:
Lauren “locoenlacabeza” Kling - 35K
Maria “maridu” Mayrinck - 22K
Jamie “mmmwawa” Kerstetter - 18.5K
Kristin “allinbluffpsych” Bachman - 12K
WSOP 2009 Event #19: $2.5K 6-Handed NLHE
Over in the 2.5K 6-Handed NLHE event players are busting at a fairly rapid rate and the field has already dropped from 1,068 entrants to 708. Recent eliminations include Devin “tranquilchaos” Porter, Lee “acumen53″ Childs, Justin “lockdownpokah” Allen, Nick “fu_15″ Maimone, Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer, and Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach who explained his bustout very simply:
“Roothlus got me.”
He isn’t the only one, Adam “Roothlus” Levy (pictured right) has been on a sick tear this afternoon and is already up to 30k from his 7.5K starting stack. He briefy explained how he got the remainder of Fohrenbach’s chips when a player raised at the 75/150 level, Richard called, Adam made it 1,875 total and Richard backshoved the rest of his stack. Levy called with pocket tens, which held against Richard’s A-9 to add even more chips to his already hefty stack.
They may not have the most chips in the room, but Brett “threatnasty” Switzer and Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger may have the most railbirds. Jim “MrBigQueso” Collopy, Jeff “jeffboski” Sluzinski, and a couple of others have decided to spend their day railing their buddy, cheering him on, and complimenting him on Brett’s fetching pink shirt.
