Jonathan “driverseati” Tamayo (pictured left) made a roller coaster motion with his hands to describe the past hour, but the latter half of the journey has been entirely uphill. First Tamayo knocked out a shorter stack holding pocket tens to his opponent’s pocket sevens to build him up to 1.8 million. Just a little while later we watched as the flop came down 9

. The player in the big blind led out for 126K, another player folded and Tamayo calmly called. The turn was the 3
and the big blind fired out 317K, which Tamayo again quickly called. The river came Q
to complete the flush and the big blind checked to Jonathan who bet out 500K, leaving around 730K behind. His opponent went in the tank on his decision for a couple of minutes. He pulled a stack of green 25K out of his stack as if he were going to call, but ultimately conceded the pot to Tamayo. That hand sent Jonathan past the 2 million chip mark and he headed to break with around 2.3 million.
It has been a rough level for several other P5ers who found their Main Event journey come to an end this past hour. Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle was eliminated in 129th place and shortly after that Theo “pittrounder” Tran joined him on the rail. A relatively short-stacked Tran got his last 300K or so all-in preflop holding A-K to Owen Crowe’s pocket jacks. The jacks held as the board ran out 9

and Crowe scooped the pot to build his stack to around 1.5 million.
Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier got his final 650K or so all-in preflop with A-K against Scott “stsitron” Sitron’s pocket kings. The kings held to bust Grospellier and propel Scott over one million chips. He has been on a bit of a rush since then and ended the level with 1.5 million.
Craig “craigthedeac” Boyd (pictured right) picked up a big pot with a nice river call to push him over three million chips. With the board reading 7

Boyd checked from the big blind and his opponent bet out 650K (nearly the size of the pot). Boyd thought a while before calling and tabling A-7 for a pair of sevens which had the other player’s K-2 for king high bested. Craig scooped the over two million chip pot and ended the level with 3.3 million chips.
