We missed the hand, but Stewart “Stuman123″ Yancik (pictured left) and Senovio “Dorsal Fin” Ramirez kindly filled us in on how, with their powers combined, they eliminated Phil Ivey. They told us that Ivey opened the action and Stu potted all-in for his last 47K or so. Senovio then put in another big raise, Ivey moved the rest of the way in, and the cards were turned face up. Here is what everyone had:
Yancik: A-K-2-3
Ivey:A-Q-7-5
Ramirez: A-8-6-4
The flop came down 2-4-5 to give Yancik the wheel and the turn and river came 8 then 9, giving Stu the main pot to triple him up to 140K while Ramirez took the side pot with his better low and two pair to eliminate Ivey.
Scott “BigRiskky” Clements also picked up a nice sized pot when the player on the button raised to 8K with the blinds at 2K/4K and Clements called from the big blind. The flop came T

and both players checked. The turn was the K
and and Scott led out for 13K, which the other player called. The river was the A
and Clements put out a very big bet of 45K and the other player thought some time before folding. After the hand, Clements was up to 265K.

WSOP 2009 Event #28: $1.5K NLHE
We’re down to 560 players in the $1.5K NLHE event as tables are breaking almost every other minute.
David “The Maven” Chicotsky’s chip stack visited a theme park during the past level. After building his stack to above the averag of 18K we watched Chicotsky (pictured right) raise to 1.5K from early position, and a player in late position reraised to 2.9K from the hijack. Action folded back to Chicotsky and he four-bet to just over 5K and his opponent moved all in, having Chicotsky’s 19.2K covered. David called with pocket nines and was flipping for a massive pot against A-K.
The A
K
2
flop left Chicotsky in a world of trouble and he was unable to catch up on the turn and river, leaving him with just under 1K. Amazingly he has since chipped up to 14K to stay in decent shape at the 300/600 blind level.
Josh “josh11thal” Leventhal just lost more than a third of his stack to Pam Brunson in the past level. A player in middle position raised to 1.4K and Brunson moved in for 6K in the next seat. Leventhal then pushed all in for 19K over the top and the original raiser folded. Leventhal’s pocket aces were in command against Brunson’s jacks, but Pam spiked a jack on the turn and then made quads on the river to leave Leventhal with 12K.
Andrew “ay_calm86″ DeVito, Brett “gank” Jungblut, Clayton “clayton_27″ Newman and Jon “pokertrip” Friedberg were eliminated since our last report.
Here are some other chips counts we found just before Level 8 came to a close:
Cody “thugmoneymakr” Slaubaugh - 57K
David “Sir_Sands” Sands - 55K
Kyle “kwob20″ Bowker - 29K
Hevad Khan - 20K
Tim “tmay420″ West - 17K
Jeff “crzysavage” Gressard - 13K
Thayer Rasmussen - 3K
WSOP 2009 Event #25: $2.5K Omaha/Stud Hi/Lo
Jon “PearlJammer” Turner and Dutch “havoj” Boyd have been eliminated from the final table in fifth and fourth place, respectively. Turner earned $45,237 while Boyd took home $61,919. Phil Ivey is the chip leader as three players are still vying for the bracelet and $220,538 prize.
