Most poker players only dream of taking home a $300,000+ payday in a tournament.

Jamie “pokerjamers” Armstrong is inching closer toward doing just that — for a second time this year.

Granted, there are still 55 players remaining in the $1,000 No Limit Hold ‘em Stimulus event (a field that began with more than 6,000 runners), but Armstrong just increased his stack to more than 500K by eliminating Russell “rcrane082985″ Crane during the past level. With blinds at 5K/10K and a 1K ante, Armstrong raised to 24K in early position and Crane moved all in for 224K total from the blinds. Armstrong asked for a count and then quickly made the call with JJ. Crane’s AT needed help, but the Q3289 board shipped an enormous pot to Armstrong, who is still seated at a loaded table that includes Dan Heimiller and Steve Sung. Jamie is near the top of the leaderboard as we are now into the last level of the evening. Play will conclude at 3:00 am local time.
