Play stalled out in the around 34 playesr with nobody being eliminated for a while and then a few single eliminations coming sporadically and spaced well apart. Then, near the end of the 8k / 16k with a 2k ante level there was a burst of action as the level wound to a close dropping the field all the way down to 27 players and the final 3 tables. Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier was one of the eliminations, dropping out in 31st place and joining Mark Teltscher, David Oppenheim, Bradley Berman and Daniel O’Brien on the list of recent eliminations.
Luke (right) lost a lot of chips when he bet enough to put Steve Landfish to a decision for the rest of his chips on a board of A

. Landfish had check called 200k on the turn and he check called off the rest of his chips on the river with the A

. Losing the pot left Luke with just over 250k and then he moved in only to have the two players behind him both get all in as well. The first one in behind Luke was Tom Pniak with pocket kings and David Oppenheim came in as well with pocket queens. Luke had the A

, but the flop came K

hitting sets for the pairs and leaving Luke a straight draw. The board bricked out and Pniak was able to triple up, Luke was eliminated in 31st for $36,030 and Oppenheim was left with just a few of the 1k chips and was eliminated by Hunter “The_Hunt_D” Frey a hand or two later.
Mohsin “chicagocards1″ Charania took a beat at the hands of Mike Matusow to decimate his chip stack. Matusow moved all in preflop for 250k and Charania moved in over the top. Everyone folded and Mike’s A
J
was dominated by Charania’s AQ, but a jack high flop left Charania on the short end of the stick. After losing the pot he was down to around 180k and was able to move in twice wihout getting called to pick up a few chips and get over 200k.
Frey had around 1,250,000 at break while Nick Schulman took over the chip lead with 2.1 million chips.
