The Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic has lost its namesake player, but 61 other players are still going strong and fighting for the title. Brunson was eliminated in 66th place after his KJ lost an all in preflop race to pocket sevens.
Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier (left) was also involved in an all in preflop race for his tournament life. For Luke it was his pocket nines against the A
K
of Tuan Le. The board came 8 high and Luke was able to double to just under 400k. With the double up Luke is back in the top half of chip stacks as play winds down on day 3. The players have about 40 minutes of clock time left, though at some point the staff will pause play and draw for a set number of hands to be played at each of the tables.
Once play is complete everyone will bag up their chips and then return tomorrow at noon to play down to the final 18 players.
Here is a rundown of some of the remaining players with 61 left:
Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier
Barry “Barryg1″ Greenstein
Scott “dorinvandy” Dorin
Hunter “The_Hunt_D” Frey
Mohsin “chicagocards1″ Charania
