Keven “stamdogg” Stammen has taken a sizable chip lead into the dinner break of the $2.5K NLHE event. He was already captaining the table, opening a lot of pots and taking them down without a contest, before this big hand happened.

The first player to act raised to 72K with the blinds at 15K/30K with an ante of 4K. It folded around to Stammen in the big blind and he called. The flop was 953. Stammen checked and his opponent bet 110K. Stammen called. The turn was the A. Stammen again checked and the other player bet 175K. Stammen then raised 425K more and was called. The river was the 4. Stammen carefully counted out one stack of 20 green chips and one stack of 20 pink chips for a 600K bet. His opponent thought briefly before tossing in a call. Stammen flipped over 95 for a flopped two pair and his opponent mucked.

Stammen now has 3.84 million chips of the just more than 7.5 million chips in play with five players remaining.

WSOP EVENT #17: $1K NLHE LADIES EVENT

 

We’ve lost the majority of our precious few PocketFivers in the ladies event. Amanda “Mandy B” Baker, Amanda “blondechick20″ Leatherman and Jessica “doomswitch83″ Welman have all busted.

We caught Baker with the last of her stack in the middle and an opponent debating a call. The lady concluded that is was probably a bad call but went ahead and put in the extra 1800 or so with her JJ. Baker turned over AT, and the board of J53A7 didn’t bring her the help she needed. He opponent flopped a set, and Baker was eliminated before the dinner break.

Maria “Maridu” Mayrinck is still going strong, though, and currently has 12K in front of her.

WSOP EVENT #14: $2.5K 6-MAX LHE

 

Brock “t soprano” Parker is still playing at the $2.5K limit hold’em final table. There are still four players remaining, with Daniel Negreanu leading the way.

WSOP EVENT #18: $10K OMAHA H/L

 

The 10K World Championship of Omaha Hi-Low has begun over in the Brasilia Room. Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire, Scott “BigRiskky” Clements, Brandon Cantu and Justin “Boosted J” Smith are all sitting at the same table to begin the night. Also playing are Barry Greenstein, Annie Duke, Jordan Morgan and Jeff Madsen, who has a quite a few “Happy Birthday” balloons tied to the back of his chair. Thang Luu, the winner of the $1.5K Omaha H-Lo event two years in a row, is in the field as well.
