Stamdogg has Barking Chips by Brett on 06.07.09, 8:43 pm

Keven “Stamdogg” Stammen has taken his seat at the $2.5K NLHE final table, but unfortunaly Garrett “GBecks” Beckman took the role of bubble boy as he finished in 10th placeĀ for $35,584. Shortly after the play in the got down to one 10-handed table, Beckman moved all in for his last 300K in second position. The player in seat two then moved all in as well before the player in seat six asked for a count. He eventually decided to fold, saying he had mucked pocket fours. The rest of the table got out of the way, and the hands were revealed:

Beckman: AK
Seat two: TT

Beckman’s friends on the rail stood up to see the QJ5. It was no immediate help but did give Beckman a few more outs. The turn was the 2 and the river was the 9. Beckman couldn’t win the race and was eliminated.

After his elimination, the remaining players took a break to fill out information sheets for WSOP officials. We peeked overĀ  Stammen’s shoulder to see him list his current chip count at 1.4 million. He’s currently approaching 2 million as there are now just seven players remaining with their eyes on $506,786 and the gold bracelet.

WSOP 2009 Event #14: $2.5K LHE

Brock “t_soprano” Parker has reached the final table of the $2.5K Six-handed LHE event. Parker is seated with Tommi Horkko, Barry Schulman, Kevin Hong and Daniel Negreanu, who is the chip leader with almost than 950K. Negreanu gave Parker a lot of respect in an interview during the break, saying “he’s a very very good player.” Best of luck to Brock, who is in search of his first WSOP bracelet.

WSOP 2009 Event #15: $5K NLHE

After watching the $1K and $1.5K No Limit Hold ‘em shove fests for the past week it’s been a nice change reporting on the $5K today. Players have enough room to show some creativity and there was plenty of that going on in the past hour.

We caught up with Amit “amak316″ Makhija involved in a three-way pot preflop and they saw a flop of AAJ. The player in the small blind bet 8K, another player in middle position min-raised to 16K and Makhija flat called. The small blind folded and the dealer flipped over the 6 on the turn. The other player checked and Makhija led out for 16K. His opponent thought for a minute before folding and Amit flipped over Q9. That got a rise out of his tablemates, especially Hassan Habeeb, who is seated directly to his left.

Chris “Genius28″ Lee just doubled up when a player at his table attempted to bluff him off a hand. Three players saw a T65 flop and Lee checked. The player in Seat 3 bet 5.4K, another player folded and Lee put in a raise to 14.6K. Seat 3 asked how much Lee had behind (it was around 46K) and called. The J came on the turn and Lee bet 11K. Seat 3 moved all in and Lee snap-called for his last 35K.

Lee showed 65 and his opponent had K6. The river brought the 8 and Lee doubled up to around 130K.

Jeff “yellowsub” Williams lost a 100K pot and was eliminated when he turned a full house (eights full of kings) but found himself up against quad kings.

There are 107 players still alive in the tournament. The top 63 get paid. Here’s a look at those still alive with the average stack at 92K:

Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron - 200K
