Keven “stamdogg” Stammen (pictured right) has nearly tripled his starting stack of 30K after busting a player. On a board of 8
4
2
7
the two got into a raising war. The other player eventually moved all in and Stammen quickly called. He showed 4
4
for a flopped set while the other player tabled 7-8 for top two pair. The river was the A
and Keven won the enormous pot, knocking out the other player in the process. After the hand, Stammen’s chip stack was up to 84K.
Shaun Deeb also got tangled up in a big pot during Level 2. Brandon Jarrett raised to 500 from the hijack, the player in the cutoff called behind him, and Deeb made it 2250 from the big blind. Jarrett folded and the other player thought momentarily before calling. The flop came A
J
9
and Deeb led out for 3250. The other player quickly called. Both players checked when the K
fell on the turn. The river was the 4
and Deeb checked again. The other player bet 5K and Shaun called. His opponent showed J
9
for two pair and Deeb flashed A
3
before tossing it into the muck. After the hand Deeb was down to around 17.5K.
Several players, including Jon “pokertrip” Friedberg, have busted during Level 2 and the field is now down to 276 players. Meanwhile, some other players have rolled in a little late including Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis and Shane “shaniac” Schleger, who has joined an already stacked table including Andy Seth, Jonathan Little, and Ben Fineman.
