Sowers Off to Sweet Start

Today’s semifinal match between USA and Spain has drawn some attention in the Amazon Room. USA has a one nil advantage, but every time Spain threatens to score players are turning their attention from the tables to the television screens.
One player who is especially interested in the match is Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers. Don’t worry, Sowers is still paying attention to the table, he doubled his stack on one of the first few hands of the tournament. We don’t know when the money got in, but Mike held A
K and there were two spades on the flop. The river was the A
and Sowers’ pair of aces were good enough to win the pot and eliminate his opponent.
Mike should keep his eyes at the table. After all Barry Greenstein is sitting to his left, Lee “acumen53″ Childs to his right and Chad “lilholdem954″ Batista is slumped across from him.
To the dismay of many players, the game changed to Limit Hold’em at the half hour mark.

73 flop. The big blind checked and Seiver fired a bet. The button called and the big blind folded. The turn was the Q
and Scott fired again. His lone opponent folded and Seiver scooped the pot.
It’s early in the day, but we’re sure the action will pick up in the coming hours when the blind levels increase.
