After doubling with pocket eights earlier, Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers (pictured at left) was eliminated by them in the $5K NLHE event.
With 20 big blinds, Sowers open-shipped and was called by Fabian Quoss. The two tabled their cards and Mike found himself behind.

and needed to catch a seven and nine to make a straight. The K

Congratulation to Mike Sowers, enjoy your $194,931!
Shortly after Sowers elimination, Thomas Keller was eliminated in third place, leaving Quoss and Brian Lemke to play for the bracelet.
WSOP 2009 Event #18 $10K Limit Omaha 8
Annie Duke’s chip stack is soaring. An hour ago she had just broken the 100K threshold, and now she’s over 200K. Her stack ballooned when she chopped a big three-way pot with a pair of aces on a paired board. Justin “BoostedJ” Smith has dropped as low as 100K but has since bounced back above 160K.
WSOP EVENT #19: $2.5K 6-MAX NLHE
With the board reading A

, Seth “grtwhitehoop” Fischer was faced with a 4.5K river in the $2.5K 6-max NLHE event. He eventually decided to call. We couldn’t hear him very well, but it sounded like his opponent said he has a pair of sixes. Whatever he had, Fischer flipped over his A
7
for top pair and won the pot. He is now up to 57K.
The 216 remaining players just returned from break, and the blinds increased to 400/800 with a 100 ante.
Over at Shaun Deeb and Erick Lindgren’s table, the talk has turned to what Deeb dubbed “location tells.” Apparently there is a French player at the table and Deeb and Lindgren were informing him about the fast and loose reputation of his countrymen. Deeb went so far to say that the location listed for an online opponent affects his decision, hence it is a location tell. If a player is from France, Deeb said he’s probably calling.
Robby “PlayaPlz” Lipkin raised to 1,600 pre-flop in a hand that took place before the break and was called by the big blind. The flop was 9

. The big blind checked and Lipkin bet 2,250. The big blind called, and the turn was the 3
. The big blind checked again and Lipkin moved all in. Before we could even count the bet, the big blind folded, saying “I just wanted to see if you were serious.”
Here are some chip counts from the last break:
Eric “EFro” Froelich - 98K
Brett “threatnasty” Switzer - 92K
Dan “Wretchy” Martin - 54.5K
Brock “t soprano” Parker - 51K
Adam “Roothlus” Levy - 43K (pictured at right)
Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle - 37K
Shannon Shorr - 19K
Levy eliminated Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi during the last level of play.
