Mike “shipitthisway” McNeil’s sensational run in the $1.5K NLHE Shootout has come to an end. With eight players remaining and McNeil nursing a short stack, he moved all in with Q

flop but found himself up against Joe Cutler’s set of sixes. The turn and river bricked for McNeil, who walked away from his first WSOP final table with $21,891.
Jason “JCarver” Somerville is third in chips at the dinner break but has doubled his stack to nearly 900K. Somerville won a huge race with pocket tens to eliminate Josh Tieman and his A-K. Players will return at 7:40 PM local time.
WSOP 2009 Event #27 $5K Omaha Hi/Lo
About a week ago Senovio “Dorsal Fin” Ramirez told us he was going to take a break for a few days and then come back and win Event #27 $5K Omaha Hi/Lo. Ramirez is already off to a quick start in Event #27, trying to live up to his guarantee.
We caught up with Senovio in the middle of a strange hand. With the board reading A
Q
3
Marco Traniello bet 400 and Ramirez raised to 1500. A player behind Senovio called, but when it got back to Traniello he re-raised all-in. The total bet was then 2425, which was less than an official raise to 3600. Ramirez asked the dealer if the betting was closed and got no clear response. The floor was called and it was confirmed that neither Senovio nor the third player could further raise the action. They both called. The turn was the 7
and Ramirez pushed all in and was called. Senovio showed J

for a jack high flush and the nut low, and his opponent held 6

for a pair of sixes and the nut low as well. The river was a Q, and Marco quickly mucked his hand. Senovio won three quarters of the pot, and his chipped up to 10K.
Since re-buys were abolished from the WSOP, Event #27 is a “triple-chance” event. In these events players get two add-on chips which they can use at any time before the first break. So you can use them immediately and start with 15K or hold onto them.
WSOP 2009 Event #26 $1.5K LHE
The players in Event #26 are now on dinner break after six levels of play. On the last hand before break, Shaun Deeb butted heads with a player in the cutoff. Deeb was in the small blind and completed after the cutoff limped in. The big blind checked, and all three took a K

flop. Deeb checked, the big blind checked and the cutoff bet. Deeb called and the big blind folded. The turn was the A
, and again Deeb check called a bet. The river was the 2
and Deeb check called a third and final time. The player in the cutoff tabled Q

for broadway and Deeb scowled while mucking the losing hand. Shaun has 9K at dinner break.
Here are some chip counts from other players:
Barry Greenstein — 15.5K
Justin Bonomo — 10K
Rami “arbianight” Boukai — 10K
Both Ben “bfineman” Fineman and Adam “A_Junglen” Junglen have hit the rail.
WSOP 2009 Event #25: $2.5K Omaha/Seven Card Stud
The $2.5K Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo field has thinned to 80 players and who else but Phil Ivey is the overwhelming chip leader with 120K. We’re still following three P5ers in the event: Jon “PearlJammer” Turner (64K), Blake “Balla-B13″ Cahail (62K) and Pat “TorontoToro” Pezzin (60K). All are well above the average of 34K.
