A sold-out field of 2,790 players has filled the Rio for today’s $1,500 No Limit Hold ‘em Event. Many who showed up with intentions of registering this morning are being turned away as the place is filled to capacity. For those of you who planned on playing today and didn’t register in time, there is one last $1,500 NLHE event on Monday so sign up as quickly as possible. We’re expecting that one to sell out as well.
Players will start with 4,500 chips with blinds at 25/50. Some P5ers we’ve seen so far include Shaun “Cougars4444″ Hendrickson, Devin “tranquilchaos” Porter (pictured right), Scott “gunning4you” Seiver, Mohsin “chicagocards1″ Charania, Shaun Deeb and Court Harrington.
Matt “mattster24″ Sterling, Jim Geary, Brock t_soprano” Parker, and Shawn “sbuck21″ Buchanan will return at 2:00 p.m. for the scond round of the $1,500 Limit Shootout. The winners of today’s eight-handed tables will return on Sunday for the final table, with the winner earning $194,854.
Day 2 of the $50K HORSE kicks off at 4:00 p.m. The remaining 90 players will play five 90-minute levels before concluding for the day. Justin “BoostedJ” Smith (246,100) is among the chip leaders after the first day while Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis (223,000), Annie Duke (210,200), Zac “Zacpacker” Fellows (187,000), Jon “PearlJammer” Turner (170,600), Scott “BigRiskky” Clements (123,200), Cory Zeidman (97,600), Pat “TorontoToro” Pezzin (77,100) and Justin Bonomo (64,300) have plenty of chips to work with. Tuesday’s winner will recieve $1,276,802
