Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaubaugh (pictured at left) likes to play big pots, at least according to Thor Hansen. Hansen walked over to a nearby table to share this opinion with Slaubaugh’s neighbor, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby, in the middle of this hand.
With the blinds at 500/1K, Slaubaugh re-raised the player on the button 9.5K more. The button then pushed all in for another 39.1K on top of that. The raise sent Slaubaugh into the tank, giving Hansen and Hamby time to chat about just how crazy Slaubaugh plays.
After a few minutes of though, Slaubaugh made the call and tabled A

. The flop of A

brought him all the help he would need. The turn was the T
and the river was the 8
. The pot was shipped to Slaubaugh while the other player hit the rail.
A little while earlier Slaubaugh called Darren Elias’ re-raise of 7K more and the players saw a flop of 9

heads-up. Elias led out for 11.5K and Slaubaugh moved all in. Elias laid his hand down with Hamby looking on.
“Clearly a bluff,” Hamby said to Slaubaugh’s table before returning to his seat.
Slaubaugh’s name will likely be near the top of the leader board when the official chip counts are released later tonight. He bagged 139.8K at the end of play.
Brent “bhanks11″ Hanks finished with 29.3K. It easily could have been more, but he told us he lost a 92K pot late in the day. According to Hanks, he raised to 2.6K with pocket kings in second position before the flop and got two callers, including the player in the big blind. The flop was A-10-5 with two clubs. Hanks checked and the next player to act bet 7K. The big blind folded and Hanks said he called the 7K bet pretty certain that he was still trapping with kings as opposed to behind. The turn was the K
, giving Hanks top set. He checked again and the other player moved all in for 27K. Hanks made the call and his opponent turned over Q-J offsuit for a turned straight. The river was no help for Hanks and his stack took a big hit.
Hanks raised to 2.6K once again, this time in first position, on the last hand of the night. It folded all the way around to the woman in the big blind. She thought for a while before moving her stack into the middle. Hanks had her covered, but didn’t sound too optimistic about a call.
“This is the last hand, right?” he asked with a smile. Then, after checking his hand a few more times, he turned to his opponent and said, “You sick, evil woman you. All you show is ace-king, ace-king, aces.”
The table, including the all-in player, found the speech quite funny, and Hanks folded a few moments later.
David “The Maven” Chicotsky chipped up to 89.1K by the end of play. He had a happier ending with his pair of kings. Chicotsky told us that he just called the all in of a short stack after the most aggressive player at the table had opened the pot. The aggressive player than moved all in over the top and Chicotsky called. The short stack showed A-J while the other player help pocket jacks. They did not improved and Chicotsky scooped the big pot.
We didn’t catch the chip count of Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin at the end of play, but we expect he’ll also be near the top of the chip count list at the start of play tomorrow.
Other counts:
Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby - 64.4K
Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant - 58.4K
James “mig.com” Mackey - 53.8K
EVENT #32 $2K NLHE
Clark “snake8484″ Hamagami raised to 25K pre-flop and the player in seat three moved all in. Hamagami made the call and turned over A

Eric “whitE_mAmbA” Ladny has been getting more and more aggressive as of late and is up to 540K at the last break of the night.
Peter “Nordberg” Feldman (pictured left) has slipped a bit since we last posted. Feldman has fell from one of the chip leaders to below the chip average with about 300K in front of him. Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman stopped by to offer some support though.
“I love you Peter,” Freeman said from the rail. Feldman tried not to, but he eventually cracked a smile. “See he knows I love him.”
Feldman did love the end of the night though. He eliminated a player holding A
8
, which dominated 9
8
. The board ran K-K-J-J-Q and Peter held. Feldman ended the evening with 450K.
Daniel “amichaikk” Makowsky was crippled on the second to last hand of the night. Alexander Meidinger had been short for some time, and finally open shoved from middle position on Makowsky’s big blind. When the action folded to Daniel he snap called and the hands were tabled:
Makowsky: K
K
Meidinger: Q
T
The flop fell 7

, and Makowsky threw his hands on his head. His eyes widened with fear as if he already knew the 3
was going to come on the turn. Only a king or six on the river would save him, and the T
was neither. Daniel stormed away from the table and stood on a chair a few feet away in disbelief. Makowsky will have to fight back tomorrow with only 170K in chips.
Event #32 will restart tomorrow at 1 p.m. The remaining 19 players will return to fight it out for a gold bracelet and a $530,548 first place prize.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #33 $10K LHE
With only 13 players remaining, Pat “TorontoToro” Pezzin is only four spots away from his third WSOP final table. Pezzin sits in the middle of the pack with 275K, even after taking a small hit to Kenny Hsiung. On a K
