With most of the players already on their 30 minute break, those still hanging around in the Amazon Room surrounded Table 74 as Christian “charder30″ Harder (pictured left) was involved in a hand with Jason Rosenkrantz. With blinds at 300/600/75, Harder raised in late position and Rosenkrantz reraised to 6K out of the blinds. Harder made the call and the players saw a flop of J

. Rosenkrantz checked and Harder checked behind. The turn brought the 9
and both players checked again. The J
fell on the river and Rosenkrantz fired 25K into the pot. Harder tanked for a few minutes and eventually made the call. Rosenkrantz flipped over J

for a full house and Harder mucked.
Justin Bonomo doubled his stack during Level 2. On a board of T

for bottom set. The hand built Bonomo’s stack to 247K and he chipped up to 300K just before break.
Steve “thorladen” Weinstein’s table has been one of the most active early on. Weinstein is seated with James “mig.com” Mackey, Vanessa Rousso, John Juanda, Noah “fouruhaterz” Schwartz, Ivan Demidov and Johnny Chan. Demidov has been influencing the action with several 3-bets preflop, and Weinstein was able to take advantage some during Level 2. We caught up with Weinstein raising to 1.5K in early position. Schwartz called in middle position and Demidov raised to 5K on the button. The small blind called and Weinstein re-raised to 20K. Everyone folded and “thorladen” added 15K to his stack. He sat at 120K when players took their first break.
The number of entrants has reached 201 but we won’t have the final number until later. Five players have been eliminated thus far, including Tom Dwan and Scott “r_a_y” Montgomery. Here’s a look at some chip counts as players took the first break:
Shaun Deeb - 130K
Amit “amak316″ Mikhija” - 130K
Yevgeniy Timoshenko - 115K
Barry Greenstein - 113
Adam Junglen - 102K
Shannon Shorr - 96.5K
Steve “gboro780″ Gross - 68.5K
The blinds are 400/800 with a 100 ante as Level 3 approaches.
