Sexton Rebuys After South Flops Flush by Rachel on 06.17.09, 5:12 pm

Mike Sexton, Cole “cts” South and four other players put in 900 before the flop with the blinds at 100/200 in the 5K PLO event. We think that Sexton was the original raiser in the pot. The flop was 642. Sexton put the last four black chips he had in front of him into the pot for a 400-chip bet. The player in the next seat just called and then South moved all in over the top for about 3.7K. It folded back around to the player in seat five, who reluctantly folded.

Mike Sexton turned over AA86 but he was way behind South’s KQJ9. The turn and river were no help and Sexton was forced to use one of his two remaining rebuy chips. South, on the other hand, chiped up to about 10K with a rebuy chip behind.

We heard Humberto Brenes crying out across the room and walked over just in time to see Jason “JP_OSU” Potter scooping all the chips he had in play. We missed out on the hands, but if we understood Brenes correctly, Potter got lucky to get his chips.

Stewart “Stuman123″ Yancik may be out of rebuy chips, but he doesn’t appear to need them at the moment.  He is sitting pretty with 35K after busting fellow P5er and carpool buddy this morning “twistedecho”.  With the blinds at 100/200 “twistedecho” aka Jon, raised to 600 from under the gun and Stu potted it to 2.1K total.  Jon called, leaving around 3K behind and checked to Yancik on the J43 flop.  Stu quickly put him all-in and he called, showing K-Q-J-8 with two spades for a jack and a spade draw.  Yancik showed A2A2 for pocket aces.  The Q on the turn gave Jon the advantage with two pair, but the river 3 paired the board to give Yancik aces up and the pot.

Yevgeniy “atimos” Timoshenko also appears to be chipping up early one.  We watched as his aces and eights held against Sabyl Cohen-Landrum’s straight draw for her first 5K in chips.  She is not out though and still has two rebuy chips before she is completely down to the felt.  Timoshenko, meanwhile, is up to 16K with one rebuy chip left as well.
