WSOP 2008
Ten hours of actual play time along with a 2 hour dinner break and a few 20 minute breaks between levels makes for a long day. As the day wears on the tension will only increase along with the blinds. Every pot becomes more and more critical as the field thins out.
In the early going of day 2 of the World Series of Poker Europe, presented by Betfair a few players were able to break the ice early and get off to a solid start. Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein (left) came over the top of a Josh Arieh opening raise to win a small pot preflop while Scott “emptyseat88″ Fischman, Adam “A_Junglen” Junglen and Chris “Moorman1″ Moorman were able to add a few more chips to their stacks as well.
Moorman grabbed two pots in short order, taking the first when his ace high won the showdown on the river and then making a value bet on a board of 9

with his 5

and getting paid off to the tune of 2,700 plus what was already in the pot. Neither of the two pots Chris picked up were large enough to draw much attention, but the little ones add up over the course of a day.
A pot worth about 40k added significantly to Fischman’s stack in the first few minutes of play. Peter Jetten had opened for 1,500 and Scott called. On the 6

flop Jetten bet 2,100 and was called. The 4
on the turn brought a 4,500 bet from Jetten and Fishman called again. With the Q
river Peter stayed aggressive and bet 12,500. Fischman went into the tank, counting out the 12k to call and sizing up the 45k or so he had left on top of the call. After a moment he tossed the chips in and turned over the Q

for a rivered set. The board presenting both straight and flush possibilities kept Fischman from raising and limited the losses for Jetten with his pocket kings that were outran on the river. Jetten was left with 38k after the hand while Fischman (right) is around the 90k mark.
Adam Junglen has also added to his stack. Junglen had opened for 1,350 and Chris Williamsson called from the blind. On the A

flop Williamsson led out for 1,575 and Junglen put in a raise to 4,600 that was good enough to take the pot without contest.
