The day started with each player having 30,000 in their starting stack and the first blind level was 50 / 100. The deep stacks and low blinds didn’t prevent chips from flying around in the first 90 minute level of play though. Christian “charder” Harder took a hit early but was able to recover at the expense of Chris “Moorman1″ Moorman, who jumped up to 55k early but dropped back a little after doubling Harder.
On a flop of K

Christian (left) called a 1,650 chip bet and then called another 3k on the 6
turn and 8k on the 4
river. Wih over 13,000 of his chips in the pot Harder mucked his hand when his opponent showed the 5

for a flopped set that was bet on every street. Before mucking Harder flashed his hand towards Andy Black, who had been vocally congratulating himself for folding. “I had king ten as well,” Black said after Harder told the table he had flashed his KT.
Losing the pot left Harder with around half of his 30k starting stack, but in a 3-way pot where Chris Moorman raised preflop Harder was able to double up and get back over 30k. On the 8

flop Harder called Moorman’s 1,250 chip bet and the third player gave up on the hand. With the 4
turn Moorman checked and Harder made a bet of 2,925 which Chris then raised enough to cover the rest of Christian’s stack. Harder quickly called and turned over his pocket aces but was up against the 7

of Harder. The 3
river was no help to Moorman and after doubling Harder back to the 30k starting stack Moorman’s stack fell back to a still healthy 40k.
Nadeem “deemer6″ Riaz also ran into a set, but only lost around 5k on the hand and ended the first level with 25k. The players got a 20 minute break at the end of the first level and then after a quick bracelet presentation to Jani Vilmunen who won the last of the preliminary events here at the World Series of Poker Europe.
