Seniors Take Center Stage

There’s an influx of men in hawaiian shirts at the Rio today. That must mean it’s time for the Senior’s event. More than 2,500 players have already registered for the $1K buy-in Event #43, which is normally the number we have for a $1.5K NLHE event. We hope to find at least a couple of P5ers on the field but it could be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Four tournaments will retart today, including two that will play down to a champion this evening. The $10K PLO event will resume play at 1:00 p.m. Vegas time with 25 players remaining. Noah “fouruhaters” Schwartz (1.22 million), Matt “mattg1983″ Graham (586K), Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein (467K) and Matt “plattsburgh” Vengrin (389K) will be vying for the $679,379 and bracelet awarded to today’s champion.
The $1.5K NLHE Event (#39) will also award a champion as 26 players will take their seat at 2:00 p.m. Ray “WirdPair” Foley is second in chips with 1.3 million while Shawn “sprstoner” Glines (510K), Mohsin “chicagocards1″ Charania (471K) and Alex Jacob (433K) are all in contention. The winner will receive $657,969 this evening.
The $5K NLHE Shootout will get underway at 2:00 p.m. There will be five tables with six players at each playing for a seat at tomorrow’s final table of five. Here’s a look at the P5ers still alive:

Finally, Day 2 of the $2.5K Mixed games will kick off at 2:00. Several P5ers are among the remaining 153 players, including Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis (59.3K), Thayer Rasmussen (48.4K), Eric “jakz101″ Crain (46.2K), Jon “PearlJammer” Turner (41.3K). We’ll attempt to play down to the final table this evening.
