With the field reduced to only 3 tables and 27 players the Foxwoods World Poker Finals is getting down to crunch time. Everyone has reached the next pay jump and from 27 down to the final 9 the pay jumps every 3 spots. All the players have their sights set on the end goal of making it to the final table, but along the way nobody minds getting a few guaranteed extra dollars.
Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul (right) finished up yesterday realizing a very short day was likely for him on day 4 since he was coming in as one of the shortest stacks. He was able to start the day by going from 93k to around 170k without any showdowns and was then able to get a double up through Jon Jaffe. Jaffe had raised to 25k and Kevin moved in over the top for a total of 170,500. Jaffe called with pocket fours and Saul showed pocket queens for a dominating lead that held up to bring his stack back to over 350k.
Both Saul and Jon “pokertrip” Friedberg have doubled through Jaffe in the first 2 hours of day 4, dropping the day starting chip leader down to around 700k. Friedberg now has around 750k chips. Jaffe, Friedberg, Saul, and Jon “FieryJustice” Little are all seated at table 3.
The other two tables feature Phil Ivey, Mike Matusow and David Pham at table 1 and Gavin Smith and Bill Gazes at table 2.
