Saul Gone by Court on 11.09.08, 6:11 pm

After mounting multiple comebacks, the run has finally come to an end for Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul. Kevin was involved in two race situations, both times with pocket threes and both times he came out as the loser. The first hand Kevin moved in over the top of a Jack Schanbacher raise and Jack called with AQ. A queen hit the board doubling jack up to nearly 600k while dropping Kevin down to around 150k.

A few hand later Kevin (right) moved in over the top of a Richard Dabal raise in a battle of the blinds. Dabal raised from the small blind and Kevin moved in from the big blind. Dabal called with the QJ and the turn that was so good to Kevin during his comeback yesterday went against him today. The Q fell on the turn to pair Dabal and eliminate Saul in 18th place for $29,073.

Arthur Azen was eliminated at another table just before Saul’s bustout, but since the hand with Kevin had already started it was played out. The players redrew for new seats after the end of the hand, and whether Kevin had won or lost the field would have been consolidated to two tables.

Jon “pokertrip” Friedberg filled up rack after rack with chips, and after unpacking his nearly 1.7 million at his new table he sits as the chipleader of the tournament, with his closest competitor across the table from him in the form of Mike Matusow. The third largest chips stack, Tom Nguyen, is also at the table.

Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little is at the other table with Bill Gazes, Jon Jaffe and David Pham.
