That is how Jason “JP_OSU” Potter (pictured right) explained Jamie “thecronic420″ Rosen’s meteoric rise to the top of the leaderboard in the $2.5K Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha event. The official chip counts aren’t in for the 99 survivors of Day 1 of the event so we can’t be sure that he is the tournament chip leader, but he is certainly one of the bigger stacks remaining. Keep in mind this is the same kid that had 700 chips early in the day today. That’s right, 700.
Shortly after we relayed Rosen’s story to Jamie “TheNew” Robbins, he appeared to take it to heart and doubled up his short stack in the following Omaha hand: With the blinds at 250/500 a player in early position raised to 1.5K and Robbins called behind him. The two players saw a flop of K

and the initial raiser checked to Robbins, who bet the pot (4.75K), leaving just over 1K chips in his stack. The other player reraised him all-in and Jamie quickly called and flipped up his 6

for bottom set. The turn was the 9
and once the case 6
came on the river to give Jamie quads the other player’s cards instantly went in the muck.
At the next table over we caught Matt “mattg1983″ Graham all-in preflop in a three way pot during an Omaha hand as well. Before the hands were turned up, Matt shook his head and quietly said, “I think I’m done.” Turned out the same guy who had A-A-X-X during the last hand we reported featuring Graham once again held the rockets and showed A

and the set of aces held to eliminate Matt shortly before play ended for the day. Joining him on the rail were Adam “Roothlus” Levy, Jonathan “FatalError” Aguiar, Jason “JP_OSU” Potter, and Christian “charder30″ Harder.

WSOP 2009 Event #7: $1.5K NLHE
Josh “JDSmith9″ Smith, Mike “inissint” Glasser and Justin “looshle” Pechie were all eliminated during the final hour of Day 2 of the $1,500 NLHE event, leaving Mike “martine23″ Martin (pictured right)as the lone player we’re still tracking going into tomorrow.
