The final number of players for the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic came in at 497 players. Most of the players for today are still in the tournament, but there have been a few eliminations including Matt “Mattg1983″ Graham. Matt won’t leave the Five Diamond series at the Bellagio too disappointed though after his victory in the last preliminary event. For winning the $5k buyin event Graham earned over $300k and garnered a lot of respect for his solid play against tough opponents and continued success in live tournaments.

Adam “Roothlus” Levy and Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby (right) both reluctantly gave hands up in pots with a decent amount of chips on the line. For Levy his hand was a little more costly. Adam had raised to 625 preflop and was called by a handful of players for a multi-way pot on a flop of K53. When it checked to Levy he bet 1,300 and 2 players made the call with a couple other giving up on the hand. With the A on the turn it again checked to Levy and he bet 3,500 and both players left made the call. On the T river the first player checked and Levy checked behind. The other player in the pot then bet 6k and the action folded to Adam. He paused for a moment before tossing his hand in.

Hamby’s investment into the pot was much less when he folded his hand with the same high loft and look of disgust that Levy had used to discard his. After an opening limp Hamby raised to 1,125 and another player called. The player in the big blind moved all in for 18,325 when the action got to him and it took Jared a couple moments to give up on his hand. The other players also folded and the all in move was enough to win the pot. Hamby had started the day in the main poker room as a late buy in, but his table has been broken and he is now located in the Fontana Lounge where a vast majority of the tournament table are located.
