Rosen, Randers Bust; Potter Doubles Up by Jessica on 01.15.09, 10:43 pm

Players have only recently returned from their one hour dinner break, but the action has been fast and furious towards the beginning of Level 10.  Tyler Smith is the new tournament chipleader after he and Jamie “TheCronic420″ Rosen got it all-in preflop with Smith holding pocket kings to Rosen’s A-K.  Jamie’s 150K stack was shipped Smith’s way and he is now sitting pretty with 400K.

Shortly after Rosen busted, Randy “Randers” Haddox (pictured left) also headed for the door after a player opened from under the gun for 7K with the blinds at 1K/2K ante 300 and Randy moved all-in for a little over 70K and the initial raiser called with pocket deuces.  Haddox’s AA failed to hold against the ducks and he was eliminated with around 80 players left.

As tables break down, players are being sent to new tables and Ryan “gutshtallin” Welch has joined the table where Devin “tranquilchaos” Porter, Jason “JP_OSU” Potter, and Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire.  The foursome are keeping each other relatively entertained as play goes on, but they are not afraid to get involved in big pots with one another.

While we missed the hand, Devonshire provided an efficient recap of how Potter doubled up through him shortly after dinner break:

“Raise (points at self).  3 bets (points at Potter).  Stuff (points at self). Call (points at Potter). Fours (points at self). Ace King (points to Potter). Schwoooop (at this point, Bryan makes a motion showing that Jason won their big race and he is now sitting with 100K in chips).”

When the group isn’t getting tangled up in hands together, they are trying their best to keep each other entertained.  Here is a brief sample of their banter:

Devo: “That is why I play online.”

Devin: “You can play poker online?”

Ryan: “Yeah, but its illegal.”

Another player who is doing his best to pass the time busted out of the Main Event yesterday, but that isn’t stopping him from playing in tonight’s $200 second chance tournament.  Matt “Allinat420″ Stout (pictured right) can’t seem to get a steady internet connection in his room in order to play poker online, so he decided to pass his last night in Biloxi with a little live poker.  He would like it to be known that the only reason he is still here is because it is cheaper to stay an extra day than change his flight, but that isn’t going to stop us from providing periodic updates on Matt’s progress in this esteemed event.

Here are some chip counts from the Main Event midway through Level 10:
Jordan Morgan - 182K
Mohsin “chicagocards1″ Charania - 140K
Jason “JP_OSU” Potter - 100K
Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire - 90K
Ryan “gutshtallin” Welch - 88K
Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith - 58K
Ben Fineman - 54K
Devin “tranquilchaos” Porter - 53K
Ryan “youngluc” Young - 41K
