Rollo, King eliminated from $2K NLHE event by Rachel on 06.05.09, 1:35 am

Justin “jurollo” Rollo was just eliminated from the $2K NLHE event when his QT couldn’t catch up to his opponent’s JJ. Rollo told us he went from 25K to 10K with the blinds at 300/600 and a ante of 75 when his flopped set of sevens was beaten by another player’s turned set of kings.

Carter “ckingusc” King (pictured at left) told us he has also been eliminated. He said he shoved his last 11 big blinds on the button with J-9 suited and was called by the big blind with pocket fives. He didn’t improve and was sent to the rail.

It was Amanda “Mandy B” Baker who had the jacks in her all-in hand. Baker moved all in for her last 7,625 chips and as called by the player in seat two. Baker flipped over JJ, and seat two turned up AK. The flop was a scary T75, but she dodged all the cards the flush and the over on the 5 turn and the 6 river to double up.

Jason “treysfull21″ Mercier, who is sitting with a big stack in this tournament a day after winning his first bracelet, called a short stack’s all in at his table with AQ after raising on the button. The big blind also turned over pocket jacks and the board came KT342, and Mercier took a small hit to his stack.

Fellow West Virginians Steve “SteveyBallGame” Merrifield and Jason “JAKoon1985″ Koon are seated at the same table. We spotted Koon raising before the flop, but he couldn’t find any caller. “That’s waht P5s does for me,” he said, before tabling his pocket aces. Merrifield and Koon finished 1-2 in a SCOOP event earlier this year.

We we walked by the table of Jason “JP_OSU” Potter, he had just been re-raised to 4.5K more on a flop of T64. Potter put his hands on top of his head and looked a little frustrated by the re-raise. Eventually he decided to fold, telling his opponent with a smile, “You look tight. I can’t really describe it, but you look tight.”

Lee “acumen53″ Childs has been chipping up nicely after coming back from dinner break. Childs was kind enough to step aside and discuss his progress recently. “I’ve just been chipping up,” he said. “I four bet shoved with — well I don’t want to reveal the hand — but I picked up a nice pot.” Lee also told us that he doubled in a race with sevens against AK. Childs had 7.9K at break, and now sits with 30K.

The self proclaimed “Poker Brat” Phil Hellmuth is attracting attention since his table is near the rail, but his tablemate Eric “white_mamba” Ladny (pictured at right) has him out-chipped. Ladny has played solid throughout the day, and has over 60K in chips to prove so.

Other chip counts in the 2K include:

Dan “Wretchy” Martin - 66K
Michael “benvo123″ Benvenuti - 50K
Matt “Claw1980″ Holtzclaw - 40K
Scott “r_a_y” Montgomery - 22K
Maria “Maridu” Mayrinck - 22K
Justin “lockdownpokha” Allen - 20K
Jon “FatalError” Aguiar - 17K
Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire - 17K
Eric “p3achy_keen” Liu - 13K
Scott “BigRiskky” Clements - 10K
Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby - 9K

WSOP EVENT #10: $2.5K POT-LIMIT HOLD’EM/OMAHA

Before the last break in the $2.5K mixed pot-limit hold’em and Omaha event, Jeff “yellowsub” Williams and Andy “BKiCe” Seth were both eliminated, in 42nd and 40th place respectively. Both took home $5,074 for their cash.

WSOP EVENT #9: $1.5K NLHE 6-MAX

The $1.5K NLHE 6-max event has also just returned from break. David “Bakes” Baker, Robert “PlayaPlz” Lipkin, Ben “98 mute” Yerushalaim are all still in the field with 22 players remaining.
