No Riskky, No Return?

As Level One is winding down the field in the $1.5K PLO H/L tournament is at 706 and growing, but there is one player that we have yet to spot in the crowd so far: Omaha specialist Scott “BigRiskky” Clements. It is possible that we just haven’t spotted him yet. It is also possible he may not be here, as players have until the end of Level Two to register for the tournament. Another likely explanation is that Clements, like many other pros, is taking the day off today so he can rest up for the $50K HORSE event that starts tomorrow at noon. All we know for now is that it seems as though Clements is not in the field, but should we spot him or hear word on his absence, we’ll be sure to fill you in.
After oversleeping for the $2.5K Mixed Hold’em event yesterday Adam “Roothlus” Levy (pictured left) rolled in to today’s event a little late as well only to discover a little problem. While he registered for the event yesterday, his stack had not been blinded off and it looked like he was going to have to wait a full eight hands before he would be in the big blind and could start playing. The floor decided the best compromise was for Adam to post 75 chips to compensate for the blinds he missed and he would be allowed to be dealt in the next hand. Levy agreed that is was the most fair solution to the problem and was dealt in. Granted, now he appears to be more interested in the South Africa vs. Brazil soccer match on TV, but it is the thought of the floor that counts.
One player who wishes he was a little later for the event is Senovio “Dorsal Fin” Ramirez. He got it all-in preflop against Kathy Liebert and his suited ace with low cards failed to outdraw her J-J-A-2. He was left with just around 1K in chips with one rebuy chip left, but when we last walked by he appeared to chip back up closer to the initial 3K he put into play.
Other players we spotted in the field include Brett “gank” Jungblut, Jordan “Octavian_C” Rich, Blake “Balla-B13″ Cahail, and Steve “whitealroker” Bent. Our smallish contingent of P5ers are spread throughout the field, but one table has emerged as the clear favorite for P5s Feature table. It boasts the trio of Trevor “DenYoungGun” Reader, Scott “thefuture21″ Bell, and Matt “ch0ppy” Kay seated all in a row.
WSOP 2009 Event #45: $10K PLHE
Players are filing in for the 1PM restart of the Pot Limit Hold’em Championship event. JC “PrtyPSux” Alvarado, who will start the day second in chips, appeared to be doing some early afternoon calisthetics and stretching to get his blood flowing and Billy “Patrolman35″ Kopp arrived with a small contigent of people wearing UK hats who are on hand to cheer their fellow Kentuckian on to victory.
