Razz can be a very frustrating game. Until a five card low is made, there is always the threat of bricking out. Here are a few tweets we’ve received from players in Event #44:
“Doubt Razz is a real game.” - Dan “Wretchy” Martin (pictured at left)
“I feel like I’m at a 5 dollar sit n go on Full Tilt.” - Justin “BoostedJ” Smith
“Omg they paid 2,500 and dont know how to play Razz! Omg 1x send internet stud love.” - Bryan Micon
Micon is joined at his table by Jeff “yellowsub” Williams who is very healthy with 10K in chips. Seated at an adjacent table is Brock “t soprano” Parker. Parker recently folded on 6th with a 5

board. His opponent showed A

and bet on both fifth and sixth. Although Brock showed a stronger board, he opted to skip out on seventh street.
Mike “goleafsgoeh” Leah tried to bluff Jeff Lisandro out of a pot. The hands looked like this after seventh:
Leah: XX-5
-7
-Q
-2
-X
Lisandro: XX-9
-A
-2
-8
-X
Lisandro led the action on third and fourth, but Leah took over on fifth. Lisandro checked dark before the last card was dealt face down and after sweating his down card Leah bet. Lisandro called, and Leah rolled over 2-2-4 for a queen-seven low. Lisandro showed 6-9-8 for a ninety eight, and scooped the pot.
Razz isn’t just frustrating for players but dealers as well. We overheard Scott “gunning4you” Seiver telling Lex “RaSZi” Velduis a story about a dealer who was confident he was the best at dealer Razz. The dealer then accidentally dealt a flop. The table of course wouldn’t stop making fun of him, so the dealer offered a bet to Scott that for every flop he dealt he would pay Seiver $500. On the flip-side, if the dealer did not deal a flop for the rest of his tenure Seiver would owe him $500. Scott did not take the bet, saying that he didn’t want to root against the dealer. Unfortunately for Seiver, he saw three more flops during the dealer’s stay.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #40 $10K OMAHA CHAMPIONSHIP
The players are on a short break in Event #40. Matt “mattg1983″ Graham is the chip leader with 1.4 million in chips and Barry Greentstein is sitting in fourth with 1.1 million. The play has been slow thus far, and there are still nine players at the final table. In fact, the last elimination took place over three and a half hours ago. Graham is looking for his second WSOP bracelet, for Greenstein it would be his fourth.
WSOP EVENT #44: $2.5K MIXED
Thayer “Thay3r” Rasmussen (pictured at right) has been trending up on the chip count list for most of the day in the $2.5K Mixed Event. During a round of Stud Hi-Low played a three-handed pot with Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson and another player at the table. The limits were 2.5K/5K when Rasmussen led out for a bet on fourth street. The player in seat three missed as did Johnson. All three players then checked fifth street. Rasmussen led out for a bet again on 6th street and got two more calls before the players checked down on the end. The hands:

WSOP EVENT #39: $1.5K NLHE
Ray “WirdPair” Foley is the chip leader with just over 2.8 million. They are down to eight people in the $1.5K NLHE tournament and the players are just about to resume play after a one hour dinner break. Brandon Cantu and Alex Jacob currently sit second and third in chips with 1.7 and 1.6 million chips respectively.
