Senovio “Dorsal Fin” Ramirez (pictured at left) was in the big blind when seat one raised to 60K. Ramirez had just 15K behind after he decided to make the call. The flop was KJ5, and Ramirez announced all in. Seat one called and both players turned up their cards:

The Q on the turn gave Ramirez’s opponent a straight, and a meaningless 9 fell on the river.

Ramirez was eliminated in ninth place, earning $23, 520. Freddy Deeb busted the very next hand.

Jordan “Octavian_C” Rich is one of seven players who remain. He recently took a big hit to his chip stack in a hand with the same player who busted Ramirez.

With around 400K already in the pot and A66AJ board, seat one lead out on the river and Rich tanked. He asked the player if she had A-J and if she would show him if he folded. She said yes and in reply asked if he had A-6.

Another player at the table eventually called the clock on Rich, and he decided to fold once the floor began a 10-second countdown. True to her word, the other player reveal her A-J before mucking. Rich was left with about 550K after the hand.

The players are now on a one hour dinner break. Play will continue tonight until a winner is determined.

WSOP EVENT #4: $1K NLHE

Jason “JCarver” Somerville suffered a tough table draw in Event #4. Not because of the level of play, rather a talkative player to his left. To his delight, Carver’s table broke and he doubled up. Jason explained to us that a player opened for 500 with the blinds at 100/200/25, and one player called. Somerville looked down at two 7s, and shipped his 2.5K stack in the middle. The original raiser folded, but the other opponent called tabling two 6s. The board was clean, and Jason doubled up to 6K.
