Craig “MrCasino” Gray (pictured at left) has been very patient here on Day 2A. His stack has slowly dwindled as the hours have passed, but Gray’s patience finally paid off just a few moments ago.
Craig got all in holding A
A
and his opponent rolled over K
K
. The A
was in the window of the flop and when the dealer fanned out all three cards the A
2
became visible too. Gray began counting his stack as the turn and river came 4
, 9
. Craig was happy to escape without a sweat and is even happier to have over 60K in chips.
Nick “fu_15” Maimone also benefitted from quads recently. He told us he flopped quad fours and a very short time later turned a set of deuces to help dig himself out of a hole that had seen his stack drop as low as 20K. He was all in against the very same opponent with the board reading J
J
7
2
A
when we walked up to the table. There was about 43K in the pot and Maimone was all in for his last 30K or so. This opponent made the call and Maimone turned over A
J
for a rivered full house. His opponent mucked and just like that Maimone is back up to 105K.
Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke is on the rebound at a nearby table. When we last checked in Fricke lost a big pot but has since chipped up while recording a knockout. A player open shipped 25.2K from early position and action folded to Fricke in the big blind.
“Wow,” Jimmy blurted. “This is sick.”
Fricke eventually made the call and tabled 8
8
. His opponent frowned and showed 7
7
. The flop fell T
9
6
and the players traded outs. The turn and river blanked though, and Jimmy’s stack grew to 120K.
David “Doc Sands” Sands has continued to see his chip stack dwindle since the dinner break. He took a small hit when he called a raise to 3K preflop to saw a board of 7
6
3
dealt. Seat seven bet 5K on the flop and Sands made the call. The players then checked on both the J
turn and the 4
river. Seat seven showed T
T
and took the pot with a club flush.
Nick “gbmantis” Niergarth’s (pictured at right) aggression is allowing him to chip up at his table. Nick recently raised to 2.6K before the flop and the player in seat nine called. The player in seat three then raised to 13.5K with about 40K behind. Niergarth had both opponents easily covered and moved all in when the action folded back to him. Seat nine folded quickly before the player in seat three went into the tank. He eventually folded as well and Niergarth added a healthy amount to his stack without even seeing a flop.
Player have just under an hour left between them and Day 3. Chris “MacDad22″ MacFarland (70K), Michael “Gags30″ Gagliano (52K) and Dave “doubledave22″ D’Alesandro (190LK) are among the P5ers still remaining.
