Potter Works Some Magic

Despite a tough table draw that includes Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire, Justin “lockdownpokah” Allen, and Hoyt Corkins, Jason “JP_OSU” Potter (pictured left) has been on an upswing so far today. We recently caught up with Jason when he got involved in a big hand with Corkins.
With the blinds at 400/800 ante 100 Corkins raised to 2K in late position and Potter called from the big blind. The flop came K
J8 and both players checked. The turn was the 5
and Jason bet 3,300. Corkins raised to 8K total and Potter thought for a minute or two before pushing out a large stack of blue 5K chips–enough to put Corkins in for his last 30K. Hoyt thought for quite a while, but eventually flashed the Q before folding. After the hand Potter was up to 87K.
Devin “tranquilchaos” Porter has had a hard time accumulating chips so far, but he recently doubled up with pocket queens and is quite happy to be just over the starting stack with 32K in chips. Some other P5ers who have managed to build their stack up today include Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith (65K), Stewart “Stuman123″ Yancik (50K), and Bryan Devonshire (104K). While these players are moving in the right direction, others like Darren Elias and Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach have been eliminated early in Day 2.
