WSOP 2008
Our Poker Pro Tip of the Day is brought to you by Jordan “Octavian_C” Rich (pictured at right ) who advises, “eat before you play poker”. Rich, who we last reported had 10K in $1.5K short handed event, has busted out of the event and chalks up some of his bad plays to hunger pains. Rich admitted he became a bit of a calling station as the day progressed. He has since refueled and is now playing in the $2.5K O8/Stud 8 event, which kicked off a little under an hour ago.
The final table of the $1.5K Omaha event is already down one player after Scott “BigRiskky” Clements busted in 9th place taking home $22,172. Clements was very active in the early stages of final table day and was left short stack after losing some big hands early. Chris “SKOAL” Falconer is third in chips with 321K.
In the short handed event, the field has already been cut down to 276 at the end of Level 5 play. Several P5ers remain in the field and their chip counts are as follows:
Carter “ckingusc” King - 28K
Eric “Rizen Lynch - 25K
Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby - 7.3K
Jon “sketchy1″ Eaton - 7K
Antuan “bigboybunk” Bunkley - 5K
Jason Gray - 2.5K
Gray recently took a big hit when his opponent hit a set of 4s against his pocket 10s and doubled through him. Several other players were sent to the rail as play progressed including Vivek “psyduck” Rajkumar, Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul, and Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy.
In Event #7, the $2K NLHE, Jason “JCarver” Somerville has just been eliminated. With the blinds at 2K/4K, Somerville shoved his last 28K into the pot with A
2
and was called by A
T
. The 6
3
2
flop looked bright for Somerville, but a 4
on the river made a flush for his opponent. Somerville finished in 62nd place, good for $6,953.
With 60 players left and the average stack at 105K, the notable online players remaining in the event are Dustin “Neverwin” Woolf (130K), James “POKERPRO33″ Campbell (90K) and Phil “USCPhildo” Collins (72K).
