Online Stars Collide Early in $2.5K by Brett on 06.05.09, 5:05 pm

Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant and Jamie “pokerjamers” Armstrong (pictured left) were seated side-by-side in today’s $2.5K No Limit Hold ‘em event and it didn’t take long for the chips to fly.

With the blinds at 50/100, Vinsant raised to 250 and Armstong reraised to 700. Action folded back around to Vinsant, who 4-bet to 2.4K and Amstrong moved all in for around 5.2K. Vinsant snap called, showing AK and needed help against the QQ of Armstrong.

The K came in the door and the rest of the board ran out 6464, sending Armstrong home and increasing Vinsant’s stack to nearly 16K.

Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens was also able to double his stack as Level 2 began. Plens and two other players saw a flop of KQ7. Plens check-raised a bet of 900 to 3100, the original bettor moved all in and Plens called:

Plens: JT
Opponent: AK

The 4 on the turn was no help to Plens but the river 3 gave him a flush and increased his stack to 14K. Two hands later he eliminated the other player when his AQ held against K8.

Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer’s tough luck in Level 1 continued today. O’Dwyer picked up A-K in late position and got of his chips in the middle against the pocket jacks of  Kyle Wilson. The pair held and O’Dwyer was sent to the rail as one of the earlier exits of the day.
