Event #54 is down to 117 runners in the Brasilia Room and Josh “theNorfman” Norris just received a big double up holding pocket queens.
Action folded to Norris, pictured left, who raised to 10.5K with the blinds at 2K/4K/500. A player in the blinds three-bet to 30K and Josh shipped his stack in the middle. His opponent tanked but eventually called with J
J
. Norris tabled Q
Q
. The table gasped at the A
J
5
flop, but Josh held the only diamond in his hand. The dealer wrapped the table before burning a card and he tried to reveal the turn card but it slipped out of his hand. It bounced on it’s side a bit, flashing the other side of the table before it fell face down. We knew it helped Norris though, his opponent threw his hands on his head. The dealer finally revealed the mystery turn card and it was the 2
. The Q
on the river was irrelevant and Josh pulled in the pot pushing his stack to 145K.
Jamie “mmwawa” Kerstetter KO’d a player at her table after he open shoved on the button. Action folded to Kerstetter in the big blind who thought for a bit before making the call. Jamie’s A
J
was ahead of her opponent’s K

, but he was very live. The J

2
flop padded Jamie’s lead and she faded a king on the turn and river to win the pot. Kerstetter is sitting comfortably with 160K.
Vivek “psyduck” Rajkumar doubled through Craig “MrCasino” Gray. The two got it all in pre-flop with Rajkumar holding AK and Gray 99. The flop was ace-high and Gray couldn’t find a nine on the turn or river. Vivek doubled to 115K and Craig fell to 125K.
WSOP EVENT #56: $5K NLHE 6-MAX
The players have returned from their dinner break in the $5K NLHE six-max event. Kevin “kice32″ Iacofano has changed tables since the break. We saw him bet 2.8K on a flop of K
6
4
and get a call from the player in seat five. The turn was the 5
and both players checked to see the 7
on the river. Iacofano checked again and his opponent bet 5.7K.
“I let eights get there?” Iacofano said with a smile. “Geez.”
He folded and let the other player rake in the pot.
Four players, including David “DavidP18” Peters (pictured right) and Darryll “DFish” Fish, saw a flop of A
Q
7
in a limped pot. Peters and Fish, who were in the blinds, both checked and they player in seat five bet 1.1K. Alex Kravchenko folded and the action was back on Peters, who raised to 3,550. Fish got out of the way as well and the player in seat five called. The turn was the 2
. Peters led out for a bet of 6,225 this time and his opponent folded.
We haven’t caught him in a hand, but the Nick “Grip” Grippo’s table keeps getting more ridiculous. Earlier he told us he wasn’t too fond having Juha Helpi and Ivan Demidov share his table, even with them on his right. Now Allen Cunningham has joined the table as well. We haven’t talked to Grippo since this happened, but we’re going to assume he would’ve rather seen someone else take a seat.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #54 $3K NLHE TRIPLE CHANCE
After dinner break, Michael “Bonzo9876″ Katz eliminated a player holding K
Q
against A
K
. The flop fell KKQ and the turn and river blanked J, 2.
Unfortunately for Katz his luck didn’t last.
Michael just pushed all in with 44 and was called by Jorg Peisert holding 33. The 2-3-5 flop pushed Peisert ahead but Katz still had an open ended straight draw. Michael could not pull an ace or five on the turn or river though and was eliminated in sixth place. Katz will receive $79,385 for his finish.
