We missed the specifics of the hand, but Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant was one of the first players sent home from Day 2 of the $2K NLHE event. Those at his table told us that a player in middle position raised with blinds at 600/1200 and Johnny Necker put in a re-raise. Vinsant then 4-bet all-in for close to 45K. The original raiser folded and Neckar made the call with AK. Vinsant couldn’t will his J-T to victory as Neckar made a pair of kings on the river, sending Jeremiah to the rail.

Shannon Shorr and Scott “mindwise” Pendergrast were also eliminated in the first level of the day. Shorr entered Day 2 with just 6K and called off his remining 5.5K behind a raise and a 3-bet in front of him. Shaun Deeb, who made the initial raise, moved all in with K-Q and the other player called for his last 40K with pocket nines. Shorr was unable to triple up with A6 and the pocket nines held, dropping Deeb to around 60K. Shorr headed back over to the $2K LHE tournament, where he began play at Noon.

WSOP 2009 Event #35: $5K PLO

Eleven players started the day and only nine remain. One of them is not Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron, who was sent home as the bubble boy in 10th place. Baron got his last 220K chips in preflop with AJT8 against his opponent’s KK96. The KQ4 flop gave Baron plenty of hope but he was unable to make his flush or straight and was sent home just short of his second final table at this year’s World Series. He earned $32,330.

The final table members took a break to allow ESPN to set up for their live coverage. Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy is the chip leader with over 1 million while Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi is third with close to 900K.
