We’ve grown accustomed to Peter “Nordberg” Feldman laying kind of low during these poker tournaments, but we were both shocked and impressed when we realized not only had Feldman been playing in both the $1.5K HORSE and the $2K NLHE all day — he managed to cash in the former and is very likely the chip leader in the latter with a robust 116.7K. This is even after he lost a nearly 80K coin flip shortly before the night ended. We missed the preflop action, but with the blinds at 500/1,000 Peter and another player got it all-in preflop with Peter holding AK to the other player’s 66. The sixes held as the board ran out T7496 and Feldman pushed 38K in chips across to his opponent.

Phil “USCPhildo” Collins had been stuck with a short stack for most the the day but managed to win a key pot just minutes before the conclusion of Day 1. Action folded around to Collins on the button and he pushed his last 5.5K into the middle. Jon “PearlJammer” Turner called from the small blind and the big blind raised 10.3K more. Turner had around 28K left in his stack and decided to fold, flipping over his QJ. Collins revealed 76 and had a chance to triple up against AT The T8435 board gave Collins a flush and he snuck into Day 2 with 17.2K chips.

We’re down to ten-handed play in the PLO event and only need to lose one player before we reach the final table. Rami “arbianight” Boukai is still in the hunt for his second final table of the WSOP. He is sitting in 7th position with around 200K.
