Owen “ocrowe” Crowe is the overwhelming chip leader of the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event as Day 1 has concluded. Crowe (pictured right, bagging his chips) built his stack from 120K to over 180K on the money bubble and has 80K chips more than any other player in the field (that we know of).
The money bubble burst with 12 minutes left of play and drink orders suddenly switched from water and energy drinks to Coronas and shots of Patron. Players that have made it to Day 2 include:
Dag Martin “dmmikkel” Mikkelsen - 95K
Cody “thugmoneymakr” Slaughbaugh - 88K
Daniel “voff” Deveau - 74K
Bryan Micon - 70K
Gary “GB2005″ Bogdanski - 65K
Phil “USCPhildo” Collins - 64K
Justin “jurollo” Rollo - 55K
Dimitri “Skanky980″ Valouev - 32K
Aaron “ndgrinder59″ Steury - 26K
Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach - 22K
Chris “moorman1″ Moorman - 18K
Scott “Papa Bull XL” Flint was seen darting toward the bathroom when the event went hand-for-hand, but made it back just in time to cash before busting when his pocket fours couldn’t outrun A
8
. He took home $3,006 for his 194th place finish.
The $5K Seven Card Stud Hi-Low World Championship trudges on in a standoff between Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Sebastian Ruthenberg. The two men have been engaged in heads-up warfare for more than two hours and are nearly dead even in chips. Ruthenberg, hailing from Germany, battles six-time WSOP winner Ferguson for his first bracelet and is proving himself to be a venerable opponent. Though neither player holds a major chip advantage, the ante is now at 15K with the bring-in at 20K and completion at 60K; action should get interesting in the next level as the players duel for the $328,756 payout and WSOP gold loot.
