After a long day of play, the action is finally down to the final 2 players. Kathy Liebert is one player away from being the first woman ever to win an open World Poker Tour event, but that one person is Steve Brecher and he happens to be sitting on a 2.5 - 1 chip lead over Liebert. Brecher has held the lead for a while, but was able to pad it a little and bring the action to heads up play all at once.
Chris Moore (Right) raised from the small blind to 125k (blinds at 25k / 50k) and Brecher called. In the battle of the blinds the flop came 9
5
4
and Moore moved the rest of his chips into the middle. Brecher called with his K
3
for a flush draw while Moore had the A
K
for ace high but the lead in the hand . He had one of Brecher’s diamond outs and he had the king locked up, leaving Steve looking for a diamond or a three. The 5
turn was no help but the 6
river gave Brecher the flush, the pot, and even more of a chip lead going into heads up play against Liebert. Chris Moore earned $291,500 for his 3rd place finish.
Steve Brecher - 5.5 million
